For the bruschetta: try roasting the bread in a pan with olive oil and then cut open a fresh glove of garlic and rub it on the bread. Even better than putting the garlic into the tomato mixture in my opinion :)

I absolutely LOVE how you explain everything to Grace. I did that too when my daughter was tiny. I honestly think you are doing a better job than I did with my daughter. The rule in my house was no baby talk. They are humans, talk to the like one.
@LivReader2 жыл бұрын
I’m pregnant with my first child and I love it, definitely something I want to implement
@shawnaflaningan61952 жыл бұрын
Totally worth it. By 2 my daughter could speak in full sentences and we really didn't go through the "what's that" phase because we already explained everything to her.
@thayerwilliams9052 жыл бұрын
Everyone thought we were so weird about not allowing them to do that to our baby. We made a few fun exceptions because they eased baby exhaustion tension and made him laugh too. Hiccups became hicamupmups. We made a little song and everything. He still fakes hiccups just to pretend to be horrified when we sing the hiccamup song. But he never heard baba for bottle, or things like that. He was STILL pretty slow to talk, but we realized as he got better at it its mostly because he refuses to say something if he's not SURE he has it right. I'd hear him whispering words to himself that he was practicing if he thought we weren't close enough to hear. And every time he said a new word, it would be really clear, and in correct context. Like, always. He never said mama or daddy while pointing at someone else, or mixed up spoon and fork, or anything like that. His first full sentence wasn't until he was almost 2.5 and I was carrying him to bed and he was saying no no no, then as clear as day, sounded like a 10 year talking, ordered me to put him down. Like, with emphasis on down, and everything. Looked me dead in the eyes to show me he was serious. His body language has also always really matched whatever he's saying. (I did not put him down, but we sat on the floor by his bed with him in my lap while we discussed why it was so important for him to go to bed now instead of later. He eventually agreed but was still grumpy). NOW he is 3.5 and at least half his vocabulary is 3 or more syllable words and he's definitely caught up to his age in overall verbal communication. We were in Walmart several months back and had a spirited debate/argument with him over what made a clock a clock instead of a watch. And we feel very justified in never giving in to the full on baby talk, or letting other people do it with him.

I have a LOT of allergies to things that are green, or that have fur. My asthma gets really bad. Every time I'm at the beach I'm fine and people are like, the beach is so healing! And I'm like, ....that's because theres nothing here I'm allergic too. It's the only place where the only problem is smokers. So it's not the beach or water specifically. And I think about that every time I hear anyone else say the beach is healing or healthy. Your example makes complete sense. 🙂

10:31 There is truth in it :) The minerals in the air have many benefits to your health. So much so that in Poland we have salt towers (Graduation Tower- Tężnia in pl ) spread around the country in spa's. Salty water drops from top to bottom releasing all the minerals in the air and people just sit around and inhale. This is a very old old method. Been around since XVII-XVIII.

So I had to look it up when you mentioned feeling better by the ocean because I feel the same way. Apparently there have been studies that show it actually can help both physical and mental health. It seems like it’s a combo of things like the white noise sounds stimulating seratonin, sunshine, the grounding effect walking barefoot on the earth has on all the nerve endings in our feet, the effect of the color blue on our brains, and even the negative ions in the air. It kind of seems like it’s a perfect storm of “feel good” things!

She went to a special shoe store that has you hooked up to stuff then you get on a treadmill or other walking testing that shows how your foot walks and then they can suggest specific shoes for your feet they are over a hundred bucks but she loves those shoes and was even able to get special flip flops that are perfect for her foot shape
