How does 4# sieve have an opening of 4.75 mm? But 1 inch = 25.4 mm, so 25.4/4 = 6.35.

1 micron = 1 million of a meter. 1 million is 10 lacs, 10,00,000 (6 zeros) so technically In Meters 1 micron = 10-6 meter ( 10 raise to -6) and In MM 1 micron = 10-3 mm (10 raise to -3) Hope I am correct. Thks, OSR9
