Siezed Ford 3000 motor rebuild | Part 1

So…. I blew some money away on a pretty useless old Ford 3000 (175) diesel motor, well useless for now anyway. It’s locked up solid. Can I get it unstuck, rebuilt and going again? Part 1

Yes it is the same block as 2-3&4000. Casted by Ford and machined by Perkins. Great engine!

Good day from Canada Our neighbour had 3000, very gutsy motor. I thought they had cast oil pan? Thanks interesting.

Yes I have heard they are a good motor 👍. Many Perkins engines in MF tractors of the same era had cast sump’s, and you would think this engine would have one being a structural block, however it seems odd that it is a pressed steel sump.

Make sure non of the lifter mushrooms have chips that can lock oil pump up

Yes you are probably right, however, cubic centimetre engine displacement is usually denoted with the unit cc, not cm3. When he says cm3 we don’t know what the heck he is measuring in cubic centimetres it could be a box, a shelf, a part, but as soon as he refers to it as cc’s we know he is measuring engine displacement for something.
