I think it will run, but if it were me I would have separated the crank from that tight bearing and sanded/scotch brighted the surfaces. That being said put some Lucas oil treatment into it and that bearing will "self clear"

She will run.. it's a briggs
@CarlMarx4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it'll run for sure
@Tjousk4 жыл бұрын
yeah, fairly sure it'll run. Depending on the condition of that bearing, it might seize up again fairly quick, or it might loosen up more and keep running for another few years - as long as it's not run low on oil again.

Wow! A plastic cam.... That's a new one to me. Also the gasket sets the bearing clearance so that'll compensate for the slop from the chewed up bearing 😁

I regret throwing out my seized pressure washer engine after watching this. Doh.

I'd like to know why this engine seized,..was it a 'factory fault' or owner neglect,...i.e.. no oil change /checking oil level.?

I got a champion lawnmower must be nearly 20 years old now has plastic cams and gears still going. it also got some strange thing to keep a valve open till it gets some speed up

Called a pressure relief valve and it's used to make pull starting easier. Very common.

In my experience as a small engine mechanic Ive had tons of these junk china motors with broken governors that then lead the motor to over rev and seize up. Also lots with broken cam gears. Ive even had a Honda gx630 with only 400 hours come in with a broken plastic cam gear. Value engineering at its worst. Ill stick with my good ole American all metal flatheads...

I’m working on the same engine and same issue with it.

Nice! I would have thought it was the piston in the bore, but I guess not. Did you pop the head off camera to check for scoring? I'd just be curious to see what the bore looks like. I think that if it is only a bearing it will run fine for a while, be we will see! Nice video!

I'm going through this exact scenario right now. The washer sat for several years and now the engine is seized. I dropped the pump and I'm ready to open the crankcase cover. That camshaft bothers me. Is there any way to install it wrong? If so, how can I be sure to install it correctly? TIA

Timing marks. DUH!

It turned out the piston was stuck. Probably rust. Got it freed up, replaced a leaky fuel line, and cleaned the carb. It starts first pull now and the pump seems good. The wand needs replaced however.

if there was no damage to the cylinder and you have good compression. it should start. but whether it will seize again will depend on what seize before if it was a bearing in might seize again if you don't replace them eather way just make sure you fill it with oil before you try and start it

What a teaser video! I think it will run fine, but plastic cam gear and plastic cam lobes? Good grief!

I think Roadking should watch your videos instead of giving you grief on his channel about not seeing you for a month and a half.
