The controls of the slide release being far back is something sig has done for a long time on their real steels (and equally long complained about), the awkward position is just amplified by having a manual safety right next to it unfortunately so I don’t think they will change it
@I_HaVe_Depressio2 жыл бұрын
tbh, the far back slide release is a good design for me, with my short-ish hands, i can only reach the slide release on sth like a 1911 with my secondary hand (without changing my grip), making reloading on sigs faster and more hassle free (but adding the manual safety does make the space too cramped)

Just got my M18 and wanted to chime in, first and foremost thank you for all the detail you put into your reviews, specifically in this one when you told us about the round indicator being easily lost, that helped me to not lose mine. as for rmr plates I bought the GK Tactical M17/M18 RMR Mount Base adaptor and I'm pleased to say that I actually did not have the same issue as you with the round indicator causing it to be wobbly, it fits very nice and tightly, I don't know if this is because sig addressed the issue and made tolerances tighter, or if the GK plate is simply better designed but I'd go with the GK version to be safe and not have wobble. it also comes with raised front and rear sights however they are not fibers and the hole for the screw on the front sight didn't line up properly with the hole on the slide but this can be solved with a high strength bonding adhesive such as jb weld.

I've got two CO2 mags and it kicks like a mule for about one mag. Then it fails to cycle. The CO2 valves seems to be the problem. It gets marred by the striker after a few mags and it very hard to depress. It's a damn shame, because the pistol feels great. I switched to green gas and all is well again. I'm really hoping somebody addresses the CO2 mag issue.

Limited Spare Parts support: not true, order directly from VFC to get whatever you need. Yes it infact does have problems with Co2. 1.6 to 1.8J means fields don't let you play with it, ontop it will at some point rupture your nozzle.

Depends if they feel like replying to my emails or not. While they’re a good resource, it’s still a resource on the opposite side of the globe to me. A local supply chain would be ideal. As it’s nonexistent, it’s limited. I heard the nozzles tend to pop on co2. That’s too bad, if it were durable for prolonged co2 usage that would be dynamite. That output from the dangerous end is a little spicy!

Good to see ya back man! Also great review! Personally I like the length of the M18, so that’s what I’ll go with rather than the M17. Quite a shame it doesn’t work well in even mild temp, cause I too am exclusively a gas/propane user. It’d be kinda cool to see a comparison between this and the F17, if they have anything in common! Till then, cheers man ☕️

Thanks mate. Nice to see you in the comments! I prefer the M18 too. I’m torn as to whether or not to make a comparison. The F17 doesn’t have anything in common with the M17 besides using the same bbs. Although that being said the inner barrels and rubbers should be cross-compatible. It’ll be a tough decision because there are things the WE/AEG does sooo much better than the VFC.

Damn it, I hate when GBBs don't lock back! So I still think I made the right choice with the TM FNX-45 instead of this one. Although I've got to say a plastic fantastic with a tan slide is not the best looking replica, at least up close. Many thanks for my next BadaBing fix. This half hour went by fast.
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
It’s utterly disappointing when the slide doesn’t lock. I might as well remove the slide catch all together if it’s not going to work. Save on the weight, haha.
@sogerc12 жыл бұрын
@@BadaBingPictures Maybe you could also short stroke it? I'm constantly thinking about short stroking my KWA USP, that also doesn't want to lock back, almost as bad as this replica. But I love how a pistol looks locked back, that's what's stopping me. Instead I only use it during the warmest of the summer.

@@BadaBingPictures It should lock back without issue, that's weird why it's not workng.
@BadaBingPictures Жыл бұрын
@@TheEpicDartfish it should, but it doesn’t. After a few shots, the slide notch hovers over the catch but it never travels beyond it in order for it to connect. It’s like the system exhausts itself very quickly.
@BadaBingPictures Жыл бұрын
@@sogerc1 I only just saw this response. I thought about short stroking the slide lock too. Filming the M17 in slow motion, the catch would require a quarter>half its width filed off so it could stand a better chance. Although during that testing the slide notch would barely reach even halfway over that catch beyond 20 shots in a row. And this was with the AMG winter hammer spring. It’ll be even worse stock.

Do you recommened 0.20g bbs or 0.25 bbs for this gun?
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
I would choose heavier ammo if I’m honest. The lightest I’d go is 0.28g. I don’t recommend 0.20g bbs. Not for the playing field anyway. Too lightweight.

I hear good things about BLS bbs, although I’ve never used them. I generally stick with Geoff’s Precision Bio bbs, so I don’t bother testing out different brands. I used to buy Madbull bbs but they’ve gone out of business, and before that I used Excel and Guarder bbs.

It really has no excuse. It should be able to operate with the most popular airsoft gas. It shouldn’t need co2 to get it to complete the most basic function in mild weather.

For the first person shots I am using the MOHOC Elite Ops Camera. Nowhere near the clarity of GoPro’s (or even old gen GoPro’s), low light performance is poor and audio quality is also poor. However it’s simple and easy to use. I’ve hardwired mine to a power bank and it almost looks after itself. Thanks for watching!

@@steffer4288 Well that’s alright then. It’s quite pricy and could benefit from some refinements, but apart from that it’s a well thought-out design and user friendly. I’ve used it more for Skiing. Freezing temperatures and it’s never failed. (Probably thanks to its external power supply)

Thanks forbthe awesome, extensive review! I've been wanting a co2 M17 airsoft pistol ever since I got the 4.5 mm pellet airgun version. But the comments of broken parts in the co2 version kinda has kept me away from it all this time. I'm mostly a co2 replica airgunner myself - bit I do sometimes buy airsoft pistols alwo of my favorite pistol models - and as a big Sig fan, I'd love one of these airsoft M17s - but with co2, as I do stock plenty of co2 anyhow, but not gas.
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
That’s the problem. I heard those stories of blown out nozzles when used with co2. It’s not worth the headaches if it’s considered a consumable part. Nice replica though. You’re very welcome. Glad you liked the video.
@sleazykilla3602 жыл бұрын
so much talk about co2. let me tell you guys simply what I tell everyone else that wants to use co2 in their gbb guns. If you dont live in the cold, theres zero point to co2. co2 operates at about 800 psi, these guns are meant to be used with green gas, which operates at about 200 ish psi and even at that lower psi its considered "a high output gas". so you tell me, do you think, with the added 600 psi that the internals will survive? answer is no, it will destroy your gun, every time. it's not a question of if it will, but how long before it does. but hey, it's your money, if you feel like a tiny bit of harder kick is worth a broken gun, then go for it! maybe some people have hundreds of dollars to replace their broken gun. I'm actually in a FB group for gas gun users and all the people that use co2 are the same people posting about how they had this issue with their gun, or that issue with their gun, or this broken part, or that part that doesn't work anymore, and then they seriously sit there and wonder why.....smdh.

Also it’s really disappointing that SIG would make the civilian P320/M17 instead of the military spec M17, the notable difference being the controls should be PVD tan not black. So from a collector/display point of view it’s not up to the mark.
@BadaBingPictures2 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. I was a little let down by this fact. Sadly the tan controls are available separately, when they should have come installed on the pistol.

@@BadaBingPictures at this point I am considering getting them Cerakoted but from what I’ve heard/seen some parts on the pistol can’t actually be taken off (eg the black screw on the back) TM were talking about a P320 so perhaps they will release a working pistol and the aftermarket community will make M17 bits !
