Sig P226 Elite Scorpion TB Review and Unboxing

I just ordered this same gun today. It is on the California Do J roster of guns for sale in California. The company's site I bought it from advertised it as California compliant. Most sites will tell you if it is or not.Just go to the California Do J list if it's listed you can have it sent here.

Not sure if someone already said anything, but the Sig Sauer Double / Single action capabilities is just an additional layer of safety. When the hammer is pulled back and a round is chambered, the trigger pull is much lighter. When the hammer is not cocked, the gun will still fire when the trigger is depressed, but it takes more pull. This ability makes it so that there is not a typical safety that stops the slide or the trigger like you might find on a 1911.

That’s actually taught by a lot of Federal LE. Agencies visual, pinky in chamber. Look away for 3-5 seconds repeat. If your slide is locked you shouldn’t grip it in a manner where you can’t hit release

DA/SA is possibly the safest way to carry. No mechanical safety to remember to click off. You decock before you holster the weapon, which gives you a heavier trigger which should help you not shoot sooner than you wanted. i.g. shooting yourself in the thigh as you draw. Then after the first shot you generally have a trigger 1/2 the lbs as the DA.

The SIG doesn't have a external safety. And the DA/SA system is very effective, LE/MIL have been using it for years on years. It just needs more training then other systems.

believe it or not slide bite doesn't hurt as bad as people think it does. I wouldn't suggest trying it, but it's not gonna cut your finger off or anything.

Late response , but yea I got my elite dark brand new, it came with one mag and a voucher for the other one. Just got the second mag from sig, brand new still sealed in factory bag. Everything worked out. My only peeve was that my gun didn't have the grip wrapper, which was odd but no big deal

Do you think there’s a big difference between this and the p226 extreme? The fde color just didn’t sit with me so I went with the extreme thinking it was the same gun but realized later there was a few small differences. Would you notice those firing between the 2?

I conceal carry the P226 and I'm a skinny ass dude, lol. The size of the gun is a little bit of a nuisance when getting in and out of the car and I gotta sit up straight so it doesn't hurt my back during long car rides but it's totally possible to conceal a full size pistol! Nice piece by the way!

Thanks Kan00sH. I'm trying to figure out the significance of the different color bands. So far from 2011 onwards, Sig's have the Silver band /w black print, In 2010 they were Blue. Certified Pre-Owned came with a red band. I just visited a vendor who had 3 scorpions in stock and they had a Green Band. Just trying to figure out what the significance is? Cheers.

With a DA/SA you dont have to worry about anything. There is no safety, Pull the trigger it goes bang. The DA/SA just removes the problems with having a drawn hammer in a holster, possible intrusions can prevent the weapon from firing.Stay away from 1911's for concealed carry. DA/SA isn't really necessary with glocks/XD's/M&P's nowadays, but they are still cool.

Nice gun man. My black 226 does not seem as pretty after watching this. Agree about the case. Seems cheap. I would be willing to pay 5-10 bucks more and get a decent case (with any gun).

There is a California compliant model but it has the 4.4 inch barrel not the 3.9. Loaded chamber indicator and magazine release lock.

Good Review, nice gun. I have the 226 Combat TB. Did your controls come that worn from your dealer? Specifically the take down lever. I would sure hope not for the money we spend on these sorts of weapons. Or was it from the non-padded case lid??? 0.o It's a tool anyway, oh well.

If you're holding the slide release down while you're firing then you need to adjust your grip. Finger discipline!!! I've has a P226 for 20 years and hands as big as yours and that has never happened to me.

Is it available in .40 S&W? I know the P229 Scorpion is, but SIG's website says only 9 mm for the P226. However I have seen other sites that say 9 mm AND .40. I would prefer the .40, but I guess I could "settle" for the P229.
