I like the covering. something that was popular 20 years ago looks fresh again. I'll get back in to the hobby one of these days...

Thanks for the nice video and for demonstrating the complete flight envelope. The person doing the camera work did a good job keeping the Rascal in frame with the appropriate amount of zoom and wide shots. And, yes, the pilot has the legs to get away with wearing shorts in a video. (;-)

I have the original 49" Rascal I built from the kit. Snaps, spins, and rudder rolls are a delight. With an O.S. 450 size outrunner and a 3S lipo, she's the perfect park flyer. Get one. You won't be sorry, I promise.

Nice flying and great looking aircraft. Great camera work, zoomed out now and then so we could get some perspective as to how high or where the aircraft was. Very nice flight enjoyed watching it. Happy Flying

Nice plane! I like it when it goes slow but at full power it's just to fast to look realistic. It's not an air racer...but of course, the plane handles it well. Nice demo, thx for sharing this.

Full house old timer going full sport mode. Just doesn't seem right. I've flown the big Rascal built super light and it was an amazing envelope. Moving it into pattern ship weight never crossed my mind. Guess now we know it works alright.

I used to have the rascal 110 myself with a saito 150, it's a great flying plane the hardest part for me was landing the rascal 110 loves to keep flying even with the engine at idle, flaps are great idea that slow it down lol....
@bernardw4842
@bernardw4842 4 жыл бұрын
How was the performance with the Saito 150? Would you have rather had something bigger or was it enough? I've got a an FA-182, I wouldn't put it in this exact model but maybe one with similar dimensions

i very much like the look of this plane and the way it flies but i'd feel a little apprehensive of flying it the way this pilot does because i'd be scared of the wings folding due to the g-force

When I built my first trainer it was all in wood from downloaded plans, the old way. I got someone else to maiden it for me, that was exactly what I was imagining too but lo and behold, it flew like a champ and to this day is still fine. It's just a phobia we all get but the designs are up to the job. It's worth sticking with it. They can handle anything you can throw at it from the transmitter.

@@BIGGBULLxxx Just sign up at a site like RCGroups dot com and there are many people there who would be more than happy to guide you through, plus literally hundreds of people's build logs where you can follow how they did theirs, with pictures and plenty of Q-and-A's from people following. Many RC clubs will have building workshops to help you out, or someone there will no doubt be happy to show you what to do. Once you build one, first you'll find it's not all that hard, 2nd you'll then be able to build them yourself after that. It's all reasonable and designed for people with only basic skills, to give themselves a bigger market, and the instructions are usually pretty good. You could always start with a much smaller and cheaper ARF just to give yourself some experience first. Best of luck, contact me if you want to follow up

@billsmout372 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I use to have the cowling on, but as soon as that engine came out I had to have one, so much smoother than a single.
@FlyingByDave
@FlyingByDave Жыл бұрын
@@billsmout372 It'll be even smoother if you use a 3-bladed prop. I use 3-bladed props on my RC aircraft. My reason, has nothing to do with prop efficiency, instead, it is the vibration generated by 2-bladed props during every moment an aircraft is changing direction.

here are some things to consider. 2:44 and 4:14, this model has the conformation of a (self-launching) glider and would appear to be over-powered. but go ahead and haulass with it. maybe you can blow the wings off. along the way, someone at sig thought using ASYMMETRICALLY shaped, drag- making wheel pants was a good idea. and the location of the mass of the lg, is weird. these are examples of the sort of schetty design that hobbyists have Tolerated (or more accurately, been oblivious to) over the decades. these somewhat inconsistent traits may suggest the model was originally designed as a floater. imo, this engine configuration results in excess distance between the prop and the cg/c-m. googletranslate i.ebayimg.com/images/g/fpwAAOxyLN9Se1Fm/s-l300.jpg oldgliders.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/IMG_3801a.jpg
