I had that same issue when I got mine. There is a way you can adjust your gas. Take the rail off and you will see a little nub. Push the nub in and turn the gas lever towards the plus side and you will add gas to the canebrake

Yeah it’s on the plus setting. Still won’t cycle subs :/

My gen 1 rattler upper has cycled 200 rounds of subs just fine (aac 220s). Tried 2 different cans. My sandman s and a diligent defense enticer s. Both are fairly high back pressure cans though. And my rattler doesn’t feel like a 2 stage bolt carrier. Could the hammer be pushing up too hard on the bolt carrier group?

Could be! I’ve heard success stories with different suppressors if this is a known issue with some suppressors. It would be nice to get the official statement from Sig saying so. The r/hyperion_rattler_saga subreddit has 80ish people and it was only made a month ago. Hoping to hear from them soon!

Yeah I didn’t want to drop $149 each on the four gas plugs that are bigger trying to figure this out. Sig insisted that I send this back rather than just change the plugs. I’ve heard wonderful things about their customer service. I’ll make a follow up video once it gets back. If it doesn’t work when it gets back idk what I’ll do. I don’t want to sell anyone else a lemon. Might just have a local shop drill wider gas ports at the barrel. My thoughts were to buy a sig can for a sig host. But that guy did just that and is still having problems even after sending it back. I’m REALLY hoping that doesn’t happen to me with this canebrake or with the future mpx. There’s a whole subreddit dedicated to people with hyperions and rattlers that work perfectly fine except for cycling subs. r/hyperion_rattler_saga Idk of anyone who would buy one of the quietest cans with an excellent 300 blackout host just to run supers.

​@0AFSYT it's crazy to hear that some people are having issues. My canebrake runs like a champ. It won't cycle subs without a can but with a can it runs perfect on the plus setting. On the minus setting it might not lock the bolt back sometimes . I have a trash panda and a thunder chicken. . Mac channel on yt , his runs an OSS flow through can with no issues. I've come to the conclusion they use different gas port sizes as they do their generation changes quietly.

​@@0AFSYTworst case scenario is you drill the port and solve the problem. Or buy a 6.75 barrel. I have that rattler and it's gassed perfectly from factory. I have an mpx that is perfection , however don't run a 3 lug. And I have a virtus 9 inch in 300 that will run subs even without a can.

​@@0AFSYTthe limiting point is either the port. Or the gas selector . Even if u drill the port and the selector is too small it will stay limited. You'll have to experiment with looking at both sizes and see where it is. Once u dial it in, your set. The hyperion is the best dude.

I trust it with my life on supers ran a ton of rounds without issue. I can’t wait to get it running with subs. When I shot the rattler at the sig range I shot the 9 inch mcx as well. I shot them with sig cans, It was sweet. I’m gonna DT the mod9x to the ensure no accuracy issues. I also have a cat mob for the mpx on training days and use the mod9x for non training days. Had a chance to shoot the MPX numerous times. Each time it was enjoyable and without issue. That’s what made me invest so much, my experience renting and shooting them. Every manufacturer is gonna have an issue from time to time but I don’t want it to be me. I’m determined to get this working. That’s why I did so much documenting and testing. Eventually I’ll get another can for the rattler. Didn’t want to put my surefire on here as that’s an added 1LB at the end of the muzzle on an incredibly front heavy gun. The heavier the front end the less muzzle flip so there’s a plus. It would be so damn gassy though and utilizing the taper is awesome.

Sig sells different sized gas selectors. Maybe u can buy a bigger gas selector. My canebrake wont cycle subs without a baffle can either. I run a trash panda and a thunder chicken and it works perfect.

yeah they were like $150 though and sig recommended I stick with the F02 rather than just buy a different plug. Does it run on the minus setting with trash panda/thunder chicken? Although I have heard of success with the F03 with this suppressor right off the bat. It makes sense as it has the bigger + setting. But to my understanding a high back pressure suppressor should allow the weapon to cycle subs on the minus setting. The F02 in that case has the largest - minus gas setting I've been able to find. I got these numbers from sheffield tactical F02 is 5.5. Rattler. F02 (plus setting) 0.0620 (minus setting) 0.0450(minus setting) . F03 has a bigger plus setting but not 6.75 Virtus gen 2 F03 (plus setting) 0.0670 0.0410 (minus setting)

@0AFSYT my rattler will run subs on minus setting with trash panda , but sometimes won't lock back. So I run plus with subs. Minus with supers. Plus with supers and no can.

@@solarlion144 Yeah that's how I run it although no suppressor plus or minus setting seems to cycle supers just fine with mine. I would love to get it to run subs on the suppressed setting. I think the best bet is probably to run a sig suppressor on these. It's an entire system and when I ran the SLH762 on this it was the only thing that got rid of the gas.

I just checked my rattler and that charging handle shouldn’t be doing that at all. I’m a gunsmith and former Commando. Mine is smooth. There’s a lot of metal filings inside there that shouldn’t be. I have the rattler kit on an AR lower. Th gas issue shouldn’t have anything to do with the grinding bolt and charging handle issue, the whole system was designed to run subs.

Sig and I are working on it. I will say we're close I'll have a follow up video once it gets back from them and I put some rounds down range. I'll also try a few different suppressors before I put up a review. With supers it runs great, subs have been troublesome. I talked to Sig and they said my upper receiver might be out of spec. The gas they opened by changing the shape of the gas port to a dome rather than a straight hole. Now it cycles subs on the + setting almost every time. Finding good 300 blackout subs that aren't gassy or loud has been a challenge. Do you have any 300 BO ammo you recommend?

For the canebrake yes. It’s a great trigger I believe the newer gen LTs use this trigger as well.
