actually you can swap out the mag release to the other side. Look in the Manual it came with, its in there.

But know this I've seen people posting videos on all different sigs manually pulling the hammer back. Which is ok, but sig uses internal safetys so once you manually pull the hammer back with a live round in the pipe you better shoot it, or know how to set the hammer back down without firing the round because that action disengages the safety on the gun and if you try to decock it will fire the round.

I just bought this gun today, lol. Traded in a Kel Tec 9mm. I hated that gun, but it was given to me for free. I still trust my ole' Springfield 1911 though. I wanted to two solid hand guns. Great review for those who have never used a handgun... unlike that one guy nutnfancy.

That's an all German made 2022. The slide was made in Germany based on the triple serial number matching the barrel, slide and frame. Plus the slide has the Iliflon coating which is very cool!

The .177 bb version is made of polymer as well and the slide is metal.

p320,p365,sp2022 reversible mag release, shape is the same so is functionality including install & removal not interchangeable between different guns but very reversible… easily removed with a paperclip/simcard remover or exacto knife siguy’s videos are the best for step by step

@njhunter1108 I tried this pistol last year in continental Europe and I loved it. I think it underrated pistol and not many people knows about it. I believe this pistol is made for the French police contract which is from 2002 to 2022, hence the name SP2022.

The frame may say Exeter NJ, but it's actually made in Germany, along with the barrel. Only the German production SIGs have the SN on the barrel, slide and frame. I own one. Shoots dime size groups. Most accurate pistol I have ever shot. I've been shooing pistols since 1971.

@afaye8- once you load the mag and pull the slide back loading a round in the pipe, if you don't decock it's in SA and you shoot it has to go back in SA. From the empty cartridge ejecting. The only way it goes DA is if you decock it yourself.

when the french police ordered the 2022, german was where they were being built to meet the needs. i think the french ordered something like 250k pistols. after sig built a certain number they started building them in exherter. in between these times you will see odd build configs (German slide/ exherter frame, German frame/ German slide, e.t.c) .by the way its the "2022" because its the official french police pistol till the year 2022

Not all Sigs have the decock, SP2022 is the only polymer frame that has it. Just FYI. Nice review, I'm picking one up myself this week. Only downside to it is getting extra mags.

The slide release is not ambidextrous but it is reversible, although with the slide release and de-cocker on the left side I don't know how useful that would be for a lefty.

the mag release isnt a big deal to us left handed people, i end up pressing it with my trigger finger and im sure others do the same or have their own unique way of doing it. looks like a nice gun, hows it shoot?

Hey you might be better off taking it to a gunsmith. I don't think they charge much for an adjustment if any at all. I was at my local carters country which is gun/hunting/ sells anything to do with guns and they fix and repair and also have shooting ranges there for everything, and a guy brought his handgun in and they adjusted his sites and he asked how much and they told him no charge.

@TheBagBalm hey ordered them in 9mm. as far as i understand it, most european countries' law enforcement units have adopted the 9mm as their ammo of choice. you wont find much of any other calibers .

@gjohnnygun haha, just cleaned it not too long before the video. i dont like oil at all in the slide, only REM OIL in the slide rails and in the channels. Without all the oil in the slide and frame it keeps it much cleaner so that I dont clean it as much.

There is some uncertainty regarding where all the parts of this version; triple serial numbered Sig was made. While the frame states; "Frame made in Germany", the slide reads Exeter NH. Notice the slide does not read "Slide made in" Exeter NH. I'm thinking this version is a German made pistol French contract overrun. Others more informed than I am, please clarify this issue.

Well, this video was made in 2011 so this is a Germany slide, triple serial number 2022. You will also notice the grip logo is "sig Pro". On the newer SP 2022 where both the slide and frame is made in the USA, the grip is "Sig Sauer" and does not have the triple serial number.

The newer ones don't break down as easily as this one (slide needs to be pulled further back), also accessories are hard to find. Holster selection is limited and mags are pricey. Other than that I love mine as well.

I have the Sig pro for over 23 years. Quality wise it looks like your demo. However equality on the ne ones has changed. First is external ejector next is the finish. New versions seem a little junky. I read that the 2020 was designed for the 40 caliber cartridge it should be strong. Oh I have over 30 000 rounds through it and still get one inch groups at 25 yards from a bench. Never had a single issue over that period. Now, my favorite gun to shoot is s 1911 45acp.

Just got the 2022 used at a great price and came with the level 3 IMI holster but prefer CCW and found this gun work's great for appendix carry with a uncle mikes holster under $13, size 15 😃

all i can find is the Sig 2022 9mm with the external extractor. you got lucky by getting the internal extractor version with the retention lanyard on the grip! very hard to find!

Mine came in a carboard box with one mag.. the slide is a lot tougher to rack back than whats seen in this video, the loaded indicator is not present on the top of my slide, there is none; and thats about it. Other than that.. it shoots like a champ shot 250 through it in about an hour and it did just fine, also verrry easy to clean dont have to worry about the frame too much, just the slide.

No there is not. Handguns without safeties are meant mainly for personal/home defense, but of course can be used for everything else.

+Wes Troth yes I have the XD in .40! My Dad has the 4inch barrel. Love both guns triggers are different obviously as one is a Double action vs. striker fire but I think the XD has a better trigger overall.

Sorry, but this won't happen. It has a built in safety that requires that the trigger be pulled further back than the position it is in when the round is in the chamber and the hammer back. I have mine loaded all the time and can always decock the hammer on a live round with no problems. There is a firing pin block that needs to be moved out of the way with the trigger movement so that it can fire. Only all the way back will this occur.
