I have found the easiest way to get hqm is watch for when your neighbours go offline on battle metrics, and then raid their base early mornings. If you have trouble with raiding, add turrets to the raid base. If you still have trouble you could build a compound around their compound to make it easier. I believe the conversion is 1 dignity to 1 pathetic offline raid. Highly recommend

Metro with an HLMG is an amazing method as a solo, if all you want is HQM you can spend your scrap to buy more HQM recycleables at outpost/bandit

Are you saying the distance from spawn beach affects the rates at which military crates spawn? I swear power plant is always far from spawn beach which is why it always has so many mil crate spawns compared to brown crates. Is this a verifiable fact?

yep, devblog 184 from facepunch, map has tiers, monuments have tiers so they are restricted to tier locations of the map which is why launch is never by spawn beach. S0faKingAwes0me noticed this also impacts the quality of spawns in some places that spawn anywhere so a mining outpost in tier 2 has better spawns than tier 0

Can someone elaborate on loot drop quality based off of spawn beach proximity? My understanding was each box/crate/barrel etc. has a % chance drop for x item as can be found at rustlabs. This is the first I’ve heard regarding loot quality related to map location

It's hard to find exact info, but there is an old devblog about map tiers (Devblog 184) and you can see more about the tiers in rust edit I believe. It dictates some drop quality in the case of types of box spawns, but is more about enforcing where various tier monuments spawn (EX: launch site wont spawn near spawn beach). s0fakingawes0me in my discord first shared it with me if you want to join in and ask him any questions Im sure he'd be happy to help.

Basically a supermarket near the spawn beach (Low Tier areas) will spawn the Primitive Crates while supermarkets on the far side of the map (High Tier) will spawn Military Crates and Crates. The same loot container has the same probabilities everywhere. But previously all the same monuments regardless of location spawned the same kind of loot containers.

dont forget just clearing out oil rig scientists, they usually drop HQM like mil crates

Best thing you can do for almost any resource as a solo is get a bolty with a flashlight and run underground tunnels. Only pick up comps that recycle for 5-20 Scrap, this includes all HQM comps, as well as fuses and gears. Not only can you use this as an efficient method with the outpost/bandy shops to get HQM through recycling and convert scrap to scopes, but you can also use this method to safely fill boxes with wood, metal frags, and low grade, as well as most importantly; using tac gloves it is an unmatched way to farm hundreds of sewing kits in as little as an hour, without spending anything you already have.

@@susan2376 s0fa was saying a possible giveaway is a hobo barrel at the bottom. For testing this it did take me a decent bit of removing/respawning to get one. I'm not sure if they're only tier 2 map areas or can be in any tier just at super low rates .... Wouldn't be surprised if it was t2 only

You missed one probebly best way for solo.. . SHOP.. you can get offline income trough shops and just enjoy playing.. lot of items can be sold for hqm..

​@anteehatte7962 Make vending machine bases, personally I use Gamelightz two triangle bunker. Works well if placed close to safe zones (even stables/fishing villages). Low upkeep and doesn't advertise your base Figure out the raid cost for the building tier you're using and just stock it under that cost, if it does get raided then it's not worth it for them. They soon learn to leave them alone if you stick to the same server

After realizing how easy it is for everyone to ESP exactly where your base is and where the loot in your base is. Thanks to FacePunch having the servers send everyone's loot and loot location data client-sided at all times regardless of loot owner, line of sight, or even distance from the loot. I uninstalled Rust. It is pointless to play a game where you are meant to build secure bases when the game designer themselves don't do their part to protect the integrity of their game. FacePunch needs to fix their game.
