Great info. Thanks. This is the system I'll be going for. News of the 10kWh battery now makes me think about waiting though.

Really informative and helpful video. They’ve nailed the plug and play aspect but they’ve sadly let things down with the headline 15 year warranty figure but not followed through on the gateway and EV DC charger having the same.
@spiritenergy_uk9 сағат бұрын
Glad it’s helpful, and it is a really brilliant system. The low gateway warranty is a surprise and a bit of a shame. I expect they’ll increase it soon.

I saw the Video on the Tesla Powerwall 3 but was waiting to see what the price of the additional powerpack would be. I had also been looking at SigEnergy and I really liked the sound of it but there is not a lot of information on it. Artisan Electrics did an install and they were singing its praises. So, thank you for this video. I had been leaning towards the SigEnergy over Tesla and like the Tesla as there is only a single Hybrid Inverter the G99 Certification would be easier to get, i.e. a single kWh output instead of the Inverter + Battery Inverter outputs like the GivEnergy AIO.

This is our knowledge bank that has all the information.. www.spiritenergy.co.uk/sigenergy-sigenstor It is a brilliant product. Our video on expansion packs is about three weeks away. The fully installed cost should be in the region of £4,500 - 5,000. I would certainly recommend DC coupling, as you say. -Tok

Perfect timing, I spoke to your colleague Sam about these yesterday! I understand that in really cold days where it's below 0 degrees, the battery will not charge until warmed up / condiitioned. But does it discharge, like the PW3 does? I cannot find the discharge info anywhere in their website, datasheets or manuals, and in those freezing days is when my heat pump will be the most power hungry.
@spiritenergy_uk4 сағат бұрын
Hi, the battery won't charge or discharge below 0 degrees C, however, the temperature management should monitor forecasts and see whether the outside air temperature will drop below 0 and precondition the battery accordingly. So charging / discharging due to cold weather shouldn't be an issue unless outside temperature is below -20 degrees C.

I have a Sigenery setup with 24KWh battery. Was -3 degrees the other night and pretty sure the internal heating kicked in. Either way it hasn’t missed the beat, charged and discharge as normal.

Great video....could I get the controller and 2 x 8kWh packs....but potentially add the 12kW EV charger later down the line when V2G/V2H is a thing in the UK?

Certainly. You can add on the charger in the future if you want to. If you’d like to email me - tokc@spiritenergy.co.uk - then I’d be happy to give advice and quote if you like.

I am getting this system installed soon. Does the AI control of charge and discharge aspect in the app cost a fee as the app did state "free trial"? Is it better to just control this manually do you think? Thanks.
@spiritenergy_uk3 сағат бұрын
I think they may be looking at doing this in the future. Arguing that if they AI can save X more than any other battery system, then they'd look to charge you Y. If you switch to manual control then you'd still be able to access standard Flux so it's certainly not a downgrade if you don't use it!

hows it compair cost wise to Tesla PW3 ? cheaper or more expensive ?
@spiritenergy_uk7 сағат бұрын
It's a very similar ballpark price. If you don't want power cut protection then Sig will likely be cheaper as Tesla comes with it as standard at the moment. If you do want power cut protection then Tesla will typically be cheaper. Of course it depends on the complications of the system -Tok

@ very informative. 😇thanks … !!

@@spiritenergy_uk My understanding is that SigEnergy cuts over pretty much seamlessly making it more like a UPS. The Powerwall is still classed as EPS as there is a delay. Probably not an issue for most homeowners but those who WFH may not want to lose their Power and Comms whilst working
@spiritenergy_uk3 сағат бұрын
The changeover time is just how long it takes the gateway to cut the mains power. So in most cases will be instant, which is also the case with Tesla. For standard open circuit power cuts, you won't notice that the power has gone off with either system. For high voltage power cuts, the gateway may take a few seconds to manage the load, at which point the lights will go off.

Has the AI been audited? What does it do? How can we be sure it doesn’t do anything else?
@spiritenergy_uk3 сағат бұрын
I don't believe it's been audited, but there's not a downside to using manual control.
@familyoffourdisneydreaming608124 минут бұрын
Probably worth mentioning that the “AI” mode hammers the battery and reduces the lifetime down to 5 years via the energy throughout warranty threshold Widely reported on sig groups Also that AI is likely to be a paid feature in the future
