@@DougieBFishing Maybe 2-3 yds left on the spool and it turned. Penn 8500SS and it still struggled getting that beast in. Two slots, 21" & 23" , the first time I put a line in saltwater-27 days later I moved from Mo. to Florida.

I really enjoyed this video. Sight fishing the reds is one of my favorite things to do...period. I usually wade fish and catch 90 percent knee deep or less. I'm up north working...keep the videos coming.

My biggest red was 52” in the surf on Elmer’s island. Caught him on a foot long gulf whiting on the bottom. You know how we do it. Good video.

Those green mirror amber lenses help a lot for making redfish pop . I use certain glasses in certain situations I have a early morning silver mirror lens good for overcast and early/ late days . Green amber for dirty , stained, and if I’m sight fishing reds that lens makes them pop a little more than grey . And clear water I use a silver mirror darker lens . But ultimately if I had to have one it would be green mirror amber lens best middle of the road style. If ya want a cheap pair that’s good Walmart has yum sunglasses for 5$ the ambers are good everything else sucks but they’re great cheap glasses .

I’ve never seen redfish this picky it’s a learning experience but I got it dialed in now . Thanks for watching I appreciate it . Y’all got some giant gator trout in y’all area I’ve never fished over there. I fished mainly in grand isle , port sulphur etc
