I notice you flinch when you squeeze the trigger ( 30 06 is punishing out of a sporting rifle ). I had a sporting rifle in 7mm Rem mag years ago and it took a while before I became confident while managing the recoil. At the start it was just hold on but as time went on it became easier to shoot🇦🇺👍

Thank you! Ya flinch isn't the easiest thing to get rid of. Doing a lot better than I used to but still working on it

What? I been using 30-06 since I was 11 years old great round not to much kick but still packs a punch.

I have a rifle thats the exact same but its named something else. Its called Centurion 123 in 30. 06. It has a synthetic black stock and single piece base with burris rings, 3x9x40 nikon scope. Im using 180 grains gmx bullets hitting 3 inches high giving me 230 yards zero. Dropped me 7 deer with it , i want to get a moose or elk with it. Its a very awsome shooting rifle. I would not sell it or trade it. Its practically a sniper rifle. Theres parker hale sniper rifles out there too.

Parker Hale No ''and'' The good old 98 M made in Spain I believe.

Thank you for the upload. No offence but have you checked the video? The rifle was not very stable and moving quite a bit, even torquing a fair bit. I think it would shoot much tighter than that, Cheers.
@berloguns14003 жыл бұрын
No worries, ya I noticed it was torquing quite a bit. I don't think I was holding it quite right. I'm guessing squeezing to hard with my trigger hand? Most likely. I appreciate the feedback.

The name is not Parker AND Hale it's just Parker Hale, sometimes with a hyphen, Parker-Hale. If your rifle says Parker and Hale it's probably a fake, but why? New Parker Hale rifles used either original surplus Mauser actions with the thumb cut-out (Safari Deluxe models mainly), commercial Mauser actions made by the Spanish company Santa Barbara or their own actions based on the Springfield 1903 (their Midland model). They even had a line of converted surplus Lee Enfield No.4's, target and sporters. They made new both sporter and target rifles. The Spanish actions were common and similar rifles can be found with other manufacturers names as well as Santa Barbara themselves. They were very popular and chambered for just about every cartridge available from 22 Hornet to 458 Winchester including 375 H&H and 404 Jeffrey. I had a 30-06 and shot a 404, both shot well under MOA, they generally shoot very well. They have dropped out of fashion now and you can pick up a good used one for a song in UK.

I bought a Santa Barbara in a 270 caliber in 1986. It shoots great until it warms up then it all over the place. But the first few 3 shot groups are tight.

I own a Santa Barbara commercial mauser.

I am prepared to stand corrected but I thought some had FN actions as well. No idea why they are so cheap these days as they are great things. I have a PH .243 and a PH .404 Jeff. Looking to get a 30/06 as well. I think they are great things and just as shootable as my Sako, Remington, Winchester and Rugers.
@timbayliss7720 Жыл бұрын
@@martinreinhold6589 I suppose that I should have started my comment on the actions they used with 'as far as I'm aware'. I must say though that I've never seen one on an FN action but as they used everything else available at some time I'd say it's quite possible. BTW the Gibbs Rifle Co. Inc. of West Virginia, USA (not to be confused with the original Gibbs Rifle Co. of Bristol, UK) have, apparently, purchased the rights and you do see a 'new' Gibbs branded rifle now and again that looks similar to PH's. I think that I read they use Zastava actions, but I may be wrong about that. The reason that PH's, and Mauser actioned rifles in general, are not popular seems to be that the Mauser action has fallen out of style, everybody believes they need a Remington 700 or clone, which are good actions, but the Mauser action still get's the job done.

@@timbayliss7720 Hi Tim. Thanks for your reply after all the time from your original post.. I think we are in furious agreement about the good things of the PH rifles. Mauser actions are still fantastic even after 130 or so years. A wartime K98 is several thousand dollars in my country (Australia) these days and are harder and harder to obtain. Yet a PH in any calibre with the exact same action is about $500 or less. Go figure.

At 25 yards it’s 1/16 of a inch adjustments.
@nacholibre196212 күн бұрын
What “group”? You appear to be shooting single shots and adjusting your scope after each based on data received from them. That is a terrible way to shoot, even though you did eventually go to tree shots. Remember, the definition of a group is three to five rounds, fired from the same position, using the same sight picture, and with the same trigger operation. You should shoot at least three-round groups and take your data from those, before any adjustment and certainly before moving to greater ranges. As it is, you appear to be chasing the error. And what’s with you feeding single rounds into the rifle like that? It has a magazine for a reason! And it’s Parker-Hale, not “Parker and Hale”. Those rifles are excellent and were used as sniper rifles in the British Army and Royal Marines for many years. Too bad you’re using a crappy scope and ammunition on an otherwise very good rifle. If you were to chrome that ammo, you’d find it has quite a broad variation in speed. Also, the bullets are probably not of uniform shape from the factory and so those two factors alone affect accuracy.
