@@markandsamafterwork Hi, I hope this message finds you. I have been a hunter for years. Never cared about shooting half or kwarter MOA groups but we have a huge Baboon problem on our farm and recently aquired permits to thin out the big troops, hence the need arised to get more accurate in longer ranges ( Baboons are highly intelegent and we hardly get closer than 450m). I have decided to start reloading and to make a long story short this is my problem. I shoot with a .308 Mag. Musgrave ( South African made rifle), 23" semi bull barrel, 1:12 twist and suppressed. I use Hornady 165gr SST. After watching hours of videos and asking friends a lot of questions I have come to an issue on which I need some advice. My load data suggest that my COL should be 2.795. The SST bullet has a canelure and if I seed the bullet up to this canelure the COL is 2.725. Al I want to know is if it is safe to go out and shoot this round ? I want to mention that I use Vhitavouri N550 and the powder charge I use is well within the prescribed load data.

True it’s a very impressive distance, in fact, a perfect demonstration. That being said, it appears that he’s shooting slightly elevated of the target. And again, as impressive as it is, (and it’s real-world capable) I would like to see this weapon system, operating at its “worst”, whatever that may be, on even ground. Notwithstanding, 3000+ yards? @@tommyleecolejr.4680 ...can't even imagine it! Ages ago I got to shoot on a 500yrd range, the vastness of the range blew my mind, the fog rolling...my eyesight without glasses is 20/400!!! At twenty feet, I see four hundred! It doesn't really get better with the glasses so long distance shooting, with accuracy, Sometimes feels like magic. Recently got hit with cataracts, sold all my guns and ammo (except the 22lr...might need that) and now I'm into the bow. But I could live on the range. I hate the controversy, there has always been loaded weapons in my home, and I never touched them until told to. Gun control is a mental exercise, having nothing to do laws. My great grandfather's 30-06 was above the front door in West Virginia, Every Time I stepped through it. And I knew that he would take out mountain lion, or bear if he could see it. A QUESTION FOR YOU TWO: ARE the two of you like Crocodile Dundee, and OWN ALL OF THE LAND THAT WE SEE IN YOUR VIDEOS? OR DO YOU HAVE TO GO TO ALL OF THE LAND OWNERS WHOSE LAND YOU'RE SHOOTING THROUGH, AND GET PERMISSION? OR, DO YOU SIMPLY WAIT UNTIL THEY 'GO WALKABOUT'? 👌JUST VERY CURIOUS😷👍

Awesome shooting mate. I have basically the same rifle with a Dan Muller barrel. Everyone thinks I’m nuts for chambering in 30-06 but we know it is still an outstanding cartridge. No belt, easy on barrels, low recoil and plenty of velocity out of long barrel. I’m from Indiana BTW.

I feel certain with their coaching and setup I could hit it at least once in a thousand tries. Tyvm for showing a distance that's achievable with an 06.

30-06 has always been my number one rifle (Moose, deer, bear and elk) It's the caliber of all calibers ! Now, I of course, could have done the same as you did with the only difference........my shots would have just plowed the entire field ! Fantastic video ! I just loved the whole set up. Thanks.

Hell of a shot distance. Great calculations to get on target after just a few shots at that distance. Absolutely stellar.

The flight time is SERIOUSLY insane!!! Amazing shooting and compensation from what I hear is some serious crosswind, and gusts... I have a Belgium Browning from 1967'... It's my favorite, but I'd love to see what you could do with it.. Beautiful Caliber in my opinion. LOVE what you've showed it to be! Thank you!

Incredible!!! With the wind too. That round hits like a sledge hammer. Took my fair share of deer with the 06. But not even a third of that distance.

Greatest round ever. I’ve never thought of reaching out this far with my X-Bolt Hunter in .30-06 (or have had the space, for that matter) but I’ve put plenty of meat in the freezer with it and she drives tacks at 300 yards. Granted, there are plenty of more modern and fantastic calibers out there, but you can’t go wrong with the venerable old ‘06. You hit anything walking, crawling, flying or swimming with a 150-180 grain bullet from that baby and the show is over.

Handloads, High quality equipment, Good spotter = Greater Chance of Success.👍 Awesome Vid Great Shooting😁 One Year 6 Cows came out in the meadow I was in my Stand.... I saw 6 Cows come out quietly and slowly from the south... and then 2 huge monster cows right behind. I took the beer from my pack and drank one🤨.... and loaded a round in the chamber... About 10 mins later, this XXXXxL Bull came out... 😳 I looked at my '06.... looks like a BB gun.... I was like no worries dumped my 180's and loaded 220gr Nosler Partition and installed my VX-1 3-9x40 w/QR mounts specific to the round, because my Ironsights were sighted in to the 180 Partition. I caught something in my eye to the left, glassed it with my Rifle scope... 75 paces... I lined up for a headshot... my nephew was patting me like WTF you miss? I was like nope... he said WTH looking at the 3 spike? Now he understands...next 2 - 3 years the one i passed up for a 3 spike😂 will make atleast 8 or more future ones that will have the ability to surpass what I witnessed. Yukon Bull Moose are awesome.
