This is pretty hard xD but I love this exercise. I see I have a really hard time counting notes once they begin shuffling from 8 to 16...I just lost myself and was playing without counting which I know isn't ideal, so I'll be using this exercise to practice :) + I never played the escalation and descalatuon before and found it difficult. I've also never played tripplets before so there is A LOT for me to practice with this short exercise. I love it, thank you for posting this. Did you come up with the exercise yourself, or is it from some book? And yes, I'm a total beginner :)

I'm so glad you found this useful! I created this exercise myself, but there are many drumming books with very similar exercises.

It is when you hit the drum with your both hands ALMOST at the same time so it creates a ,,double'' sound. I dont think i can explain it any better

allow me to try. so, for a flam, you put your right stick above your left stick and then bring them both down (the right stick a bit faster of course) so you can attempt to hit the drum at the same time. it creates an echoey sound. it sounds hard but trust me it isnt. if you'd like me to, i have a snare drum at home and i can make a video with me doing a flam!
@Lhaenen11 ай бұрын
The little "drra" (roll the r) sound when you hit both sticks at almost the same time. I guess like a drum roll but you only have the very end of it so it so isntead of the drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr its just drr

If it's a right flam it's when your right hand is abt to hit snare on the the count but the left follows up like a fast delay

Best advice I would say is use a metronome; generally if you know the tempo at quarter note you should be able to put it into the google metronome

May someone explain the concept of the accents part of the excercise?
@BewertnMeDoesGtagАй бұрын
Accents are when you hit the drum harder, making it louder. It’s like the “f” but only for specific notes.

'p' stands for 'piano', meaning play softly. 'f' stands for 'forte', meaning play loudly.
