I was gonna make a comment about it, thank goodness I wasn't the only one to notice, I thought I was losing it! 🤪 Maybe the person buried there had an obsession with jello molds. 🤪👍

I was a biker for 35 years and survived many close calls (accidents) long enough to experience adventures and memorable sightseeing throughout the States. Eventually, settled in Wisconsin with my family. I would then bike every back road I could find whenever I had the time for many years. I didn't use GPS because I like surprises. It was Great‼️. Your videos of Wisconsin reminded me of those times. Thank you for that.

Really enjoy the small town history. Konop's meat market is awesome! There use to be an old Sunbeam Tiger sports car in front of the old store that is for sale, wish I could have bought that car. Some of these small towns still have parades every summer.

That building in Stangelville was a nice piece of architecture! I always love raccoons - it would be hard having a pet like them. Funny, curious animals though.

Dollar lane LOL. That place on the harbor looks interesting 🤔! Mishicot cementary is nice and on a hill. I see what you mean about the difference between cementary there and out west. However the historic cementary in Sacramento and Jackson California might surprise you by their size and how well they are maintained even they date from the Gold Rush days. I do love when cementaries put up plaques talking about the history of the cementary. Love the plaque talking about the Potawatomi ! Having a wife that has some Native American ancestry, I certainly don't mind you talk and share about their history Always love how you find historic buildings especially ones that have plaques talking about the history. The history of the Opera House. Ice Age Trail could be a good trail ,however don't like the mosquitoes either. What a name Tisch Mills! Aww the fire house sirens. Stangeville looks to be unique place to own a piece of Wisconsin history. Yummy beef stick snacks. Awww the raccoons are so cute!! Thanks again for aharing!!

Hi Sally have you ever been through a town that had a cemetery with a big wrought iron gate that said: out of sight out of mind. I saw it years ago and can't remember where it is .

In Mishicot the Case dealer was Jess Lambert' s Service Garage. He got the Tucker car dealership for $1000 and got a neon Tucker sign, bur never got any cars. There used to be a lot more bars in those little WI backroads towns. LOL

My daughters were good at sneaking wild animals in their bedroom, never a deer but they tried. Many coon, a fox kit, possum they named Teddy cannot even remember all the animals I had to let go. Now they would know to let the coon be, I think. Raccoon carry a worm that can make you pretty sick and it burrows to get to the eye. I think Mishicot had a SWAT stand off a couple years ago I saw on green bay news. Sounds Marty had a good youth if he went to sheepshead and euchre games. Stay safe and healthy.

I spent a lot of time in European cemeteries. My father was always working on genealogy when we were stationed in Germany. Us kids played on play grounds in the cemeteries while our parents were looking for relatives. They would ask people if this person had any living relatives and we would go visit them. We found out we were related to the chief of police in Luxembourg and farmers in Bitburg among others. They all have beautiful head stones and lots of statues. If you couldn't afford a headstone you were buried in a paupers grave. No headstone and your ashes are just buried any where an nobody will know where you are.

"Tisch, that's French!" as Gomez would say to Morticia 😂 But, on a more serious note, you bring up a good point, SS: it helps you (and visitors) if a town is proactive on their history plaques. I think you would be perfect to possibly lead a small movement to encourage those communities that are somewhat substantial and can afford it to do just that. Maybe show them your video (maybe even of their town you might have recorded in the past) and compare scenes to snippets you took in other towns who DO erect even the most basic markers. It would help promote their town to tourists. You could note what plaques work best, last longest versus cost and manners in which they are best installed for each situation (like attached to a building or a stake, e.g.). I am not suggesting you add this burden to your shoulders but maybe if you can think of a town or small city where this would be ideal, maybe you could work with them, see if there is an interest and then video record the behind-the-scenes effort as a future episode of Sightseeing Sally (which could then be shared by your viewers with community groups nearby) if they want to help promote in their own area.

I always wondered why they put cemetaries on top of hills overlooking a town. Wouldn't that be like building your outhouse above your house? You know, where everything flows down into your well. I don't get it. Talk about reparations, can you imagine the natives getting what is really owed them for Manhattan Island or the land stole off the Cherokees or....Talk about laugh. I would bust a gut.
