My last name is Brown, some of my kin are from White Lake and Antigo. Some of my kin are buried just down the road in a private cemetery near Elton Wi. I learned how to water ski at White lake. Cool.

I saw two pictures of my Grandpa Arnold Buettner while you were looking around the museum. He's one of the little boys in the pic of the folks at Van Ostrand logging camp. Later in life he was the forest ranger in town. My mother and her siblings grew up in the ranger station, which is now a house on the lake. Thanks for the nice video of White Lake!

I'm very glad that a lot of our towns in Wisconsin are being "overlooked" considering what has been happening elsewhere....you get my drift. White Lake is a pretty and quiet little town and it should stay that way. Thanks, Sally and Marty!

From talking to the people at the historical museum, I also got the impression that White Lake is a tight knit community with townsfolk who still enjoy getting together and participating in village events.

You are correct that the gravel pathway is the old railroad. The Wisconsin & Northern, then Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault St. Marie, which became the Soo Line. The C&NW left first, the Soo, later. The depot was moved.
