Two things to note 1. Explosions are turned off in minecolony chunks and 2. The type is f tool your works can use depends on the building level 1 wood 2 stone 3 iron 4 diamond 5 netherite and enchants

That is incorrect, stone is lvl 1, iron 2, diamond 3, netherite 4, and 5 is ulimited enchants. If it was level 3, instead of diamond u could use iron with one level of enchantments.

Although you may be reluctant to bring your guards to fight with you, I adivse you do, as they will get xp and get stronger. If u never make them fight or level up they will fall behind the difficulty curve and be to weak. To bring your guards to u, craft the rallying banner. Also, for future "industrial" builds underground u can switch the build style to stone or dwarven to make them blend in more. Additionally, although I am not sure, you may need a blacksmith lvl 2 to make iron supplies. But, as you upgrade the smelter, it will multiply the drops. Also, build the supply ship

The blacksmith can make any valid iron recipe level one but it doesn’t have enough crafting slots for all the tools armor and stuff like chains or iron bars u need to upgrade or expand the village (things like lanterns are only valid for the mechanic hut rather than the blacksmith)

I can't wait to see what you do with the Enchanter's Tower when you build it. That is a fun structure for a villager to work in. Also, a Hospital is researchable at your University and can keep your villagers from getting sick.

Tip:- You can build rails or railways going down into the cave which would make the traveling faster and more safer. Plus your colonists can use the railways.
