Fot the Black Templars, it makes far more sense to believe in their first High Marshall's divinity rather than the Emperor's. Even Abaddon respected him enough to allow his body to be returned to the Imperium, although we can probably all agree he would never allow the same to happen to e.g. Guilliman if he had that opportunity...

How do you figure that it would make more sense for the Templars to believe Sigismund was divine, over the emperor? Sigismund was one of the first Astartes, if not the very first, to convert to the Imperial Cult. It was either Sigismund or Garro, depending on when Garro truly accepted the faith. The Black Templars' religious devotion is the result of the first High Martial, enforcing and preaching of his own faith in the Emperor of Mankind
