The best choice would be Sigma EF 24-35 f/2 that is full-frame, linear MF, can be adapted/speedboosted to different mirrorless mounts, and only costs 1/3 used of this 28-45. I bought one used for $400 last year.

You think it would be overkill with blackmagic 6k full frame?
@frankfeng27016 ай бұрын
@@wiliamsama No at all. 24-35 works better with FF 6K with its manual focus features, whereas 28-45 is overkill with its autofocus features.

Thank you so much! I recently picked up the Sony FX30 and already have a Canon Sigma 18-35mm. I was curious about how well the autofocus works for video and was considering other lenses such as the one being reviewed here and was about to B&H tomorrow. However, after watching your video, I’m thinking I might be able to make it work. By the way, what lenses did you use to record this video? The footage looks amazing! Thank you.

Sweet video! I wish they would do an updated 18-35 for apsc bc i bet they could get it smaller and lighter with all the advances in recent years...that being said, the current 18-35 sells so well so why would they :p also would love to see something like a 12-24 or 13-28 for apsc...that tamron 20-40 looks goooooood

@@MortyMizrahi totally agree Morty! There’s a lot they can do to update that lens and I think if it’s smaller, the same quality and the auto focus is quieter it would be awesome!

Thanks Geoff, I love my 18-35 mm what kind of ND Filter do you use?

Thanks for the video, Geoff. I think i would probably just "split the difference" and get a 35mm f/1.8 prime instead of the 28-45 on my L Mount bodies. The zoom range just isn't enought to part me from my $$$'s. Or since 50mm f/1.8's are nearly ubiquitos, maybe use just a 50mm f/1.8 and a 28mm f/1.8. Anyway, thanks for the video.

The Cinema 6K has an OLPF. That's why there's no IR pollution and it doesn't get a lot of moire.

You don't have a choice because there is no RF mount for this 28-45 lol.
@Newbster3126 ай бұрын
You can get the native Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 for RF Mount. It'll go well with the R10!

Does anyone uses the sigma 18-35 only for hobby photography outside of me? XD

I really wish they'd stretched the focal range to 50mm on the long end. 28mm is ok on the wide but 45mm on the long end is just that bit too short.

Me too!

Me too! My guess is they are trying to replicate the super 35 framing, 28mm, which is about 40-45mm on a full-frame . That 28 is so popular in cinematography.
