Some more tips if you want to play sigma. Sheild tips: Learn to shield dance and shield flex, shield dancing is basically the act of dancing around you shield while keeping it up. Shield flexing is taking your sheild down to move it somewhere else or just flash it back up, it severely extends the lifespan of the sheild in 1v1s and can save you life in a 2v1. Combine these 2 and you’ll see yourself surviving longer. Balls tips: if you’re in a 1v1 try running away to a small room or area so that it’s impossible to miss your balls. Shoot the balls over the barriers like rein or orisa’s and deal splash damage, which will give you some faster ult charge. Rock tips: rock has an 8 second cool down and can be crucial for stopping powerful abilities or ults like charge or blade. But don’t be afraid to use the rock when there barriers break, it’s a pretty unforgiving stub so if your team focuses the stunned target you can easily kill them. Grasp tips: You can retract the barrier while using grasp and cancel kinetic grasp early. It also has a big and wide hitbox so you can actually reach in front of people from behind them, and also reapers ult can get mostly deleted by sigma. Ultimate tips: try to get as high and as close to the enemy team as possible. You’re a very easy target without your barrier however so learn to strafe while flying, shoot your balls look down move foward look back up and fly up while strafing. Just try to gain height towards the end. It’s also a good idea to shove your barrier above the enemy team at an angle get closer then activate your ult and then start sheild dancing. The reason it’s good to be inside the enemies is because when signs falls he’s above the barriers so now you can rock the tanks to lower their barriers and have them be very low. Or target the squishy back line and one shot half their team on the way down. Also if you see your sigma ulting you have to take advantage and be very aggressive because you and wipe a team with that ult and just that ult. Also it’s a good counter to nano blade because genji will waste valuable time and might only get to kill one person at most. General tips: sigma is insanely good at targeting the back line of healers and stragglers, so be on the move and sheild flex to get around the barriers, then just throw your balls in, even if your not killing anybody your putting pressure on the healers which can direct the attention towards you and allow your team to get good picks and win the team fight. Sigma is also a very good flank hero believe it or not. You can one shot people with rock at close range by rocking-hitting 2 spheres-then meleeing, and you can just one shot a healer or dps. And don’t be afraid to target a mercy Rez after wards, 4 spheres and a melee is enough to take her down. Don’t forget that your a tank though, you still have to protect your team so don’t think you can just 1v6 you have to be smart about flanking. Also you won’t kill hanzo of widow. But you can pressure them which will prevent them from shooting at your team.

I've played him for a few hours (like two) and find it hard to play as the main tank, but I think he's quite balanced, he has his strengths and weaknesses. But I would love to see a slightly greater angle for his absorbtion, so that you don't have to look directly at the enemy. It makes him so vulnerable as he can't attack for 2 seconds, nor move very fast (the movement has nothing to do with the ability, he is just really slow I know)

Careful having Sigma go up against Bastion. Kinetic Grasp lasts only 2 seconds, but both Bastion's gatling gun and Tank config go for much longer. You absorb those shots and get that nice shield up only for him to bust them down in a flash. Good news, though, is that an enemy Bastion makes it easy to get the Conservation of Energy achievement.
