You mentioning how you wanted Leoncoeur to turn his back to the Silver Bullets before Franz would duel him reminds me of a story about Kurt Helborg fighting a Grail Knight to determine a big battle. In it the Grail Knight was absolutely dominating Kurt, but the Empire used the duel to reposition their army. Just as Kurt was about to die the Empire army opened fire with everything they had, decimating the Bretonnian army. So shocked by this unchivalrous action the Grail Knight was slow to react that Helborg was able to disarm and decapitate him. Sigmar's sons just play to win.

because Helborg's personal honor mattered far less than his Emperors, and his Emperor's honor demanded victory. It's a good short story. I really wish they had more Helborg and Schwartzhelm books.

@@Schniedragon88 Eh, that's more of an excuse than anything when you're using such tactics against those who value honor. Especially against the Bretonnians or Dwarfs, who would remember such treachery and respond by refusing to send support when the Empire needs it.

Pissing them off on top of that? For a nation in such dire need of allies, you'd have to have a deathwish to alienate the few you have.

I've noticed that the steam tank steam gun applies the "attacked by artillery" -8 leadership debuff in addittion to the fear it couses, so -16 leadership in total

Watching you play Empire is "pretty" Turin. The timing, positioning, awareness reminds me of a chess opening sometimes. All the lil pieces come out onto the board at their proper times and jockey for advantage.

I've always found the best use of the Steam Tank to be: 1) Unkillable brick 2) Terror bomb Its shooting and melee killing power are a bit subpar, so it's hard to measure its efficacy in value. It can be great v Bretonnia. 1) With no dedicated bonus, its cannon does some of its best work against heavy cavalry. 2) One of Bretonnia's biggest weakpoints is large armor. Even if they invest assets like Quenelles to finish it, they're stuck on top of it forever ready for another element to attack them. 3) It's really good at plowing into the Bret backline routing MAA and archers alike. Funny enough, the Reliques mitigated a lot of that potential this game. If Franz or the Wagons sniped the Reliques, I feel the Steam Tank could have been noticeably more valuable this game. You wouldn't even have needed the mortars to remove the archers.

I think Steam Tank was pretty decisive in this game, Bret spent a lot of resource on it, Subutai sacrificed a unit of ROR Questing Knights to try to kill it and they didn't even get close. I think as long as the 2 Grail Reliques are dead, the Steam Tank can deal with all Bret's infantry at mid by itself

@vlonuh He assigns units to control groups. Pre-game or early game they select units of similar type, position, and/or purpose and press a number (or just 'g') to put them in a group. Some player enjoy these groups for management purposes

steamtank is auto range mode, why it didnt move the times you wanted it to do an attack order and after an order as long as it is attacked it will auto attack back within 10-24 seconds. ^^

Honestly he was casting amazingly this whole battle, hardly made any micro mistakes and absolutely dominated. Turin bringing out the chad energy this match.

I'm done with domination though, as it is now. I've had like 1 or 2 games out of 100 or so where I felt like it was a good match. Otherwise it feels like I win hard at the start but eventually lose out to the endless resummons or struggle through the start and win out through the same. Neither feels as good as playing land battles.
