Great job! As a fan of the language, I would like to see more signers put their interpretations in the descriptions. If the goal is to introduce sign to the masses, clearly state whether you are signing SEE or ASL (or PSE) and name the signs you use. Just as an artist has words to their songs, your interpretation should also have the words to your interpretation. So many signers out there are using signs that are unrecognized. Too many have looked up words in an ASL Dictionary with no knowledge or training in ASL. You should describe yourself as self-taught or native speaker. Too many viewers believe you're signing in actual ASL, when some of you are using SEE. Me personally, I am an ASL student. I love to watch signing videos because it helps me to build my vocabulary, I love music, I enjoy singing and also it helps me to learn new signs. Signing videos give me the ability to do all four things at once! But I also know the difference between SEE and ASL. Your average viewer may not. And they certainly do not want to be using the 'ASL' they learn from songs with an actual deaf person thinking that they are actually speaking the same language. Because ASL is a language and it should be respected as one same as you would British Sign or the American English Language. I am all for bringing ASL to the masses, but I also believe in actually educating them. In my freshman year of college we had to do a report on deaf culture. My paper was based on a book, Everyone Here Spoke Sign Language: Hereditary Deafness at Martha's Vineyard. I'm visually impaired. I have an eye disorder, Keratoconus. I also read Braille, which as of a few years ago, also became a language. So I have the utmost respect for foreign languages. I'd like to see more of that respect reflected on KZbin. But, great job, keep it up. I look forward to being one of your subscribers.
