[Signal Mast Raised] BNSF 7835 Grain Train North, Florin Rd. Railroad Crossing, Sacramento CA

[Filmed November 7, 2019] The cantilevers gated mast Safetran EM signal recently had its masts raised to meet up with the median signals gates when lowered. I actually didn't notice this until after I filmed the train. You can also see a bunch of young people running in front of the train. I could barely see my angle due to sunlight. Northbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe manifest freight train passes through the #2 Florin Road Railroad Crossing on the UPRR Sacramento Subdivision in Sacramento California around 2:10pm. You can also see two Sacramento Regional Transit Blue Line Light Rail Trains going over the Florin Bridge overcrossing.

Great catch! Also, UPRR should own more railroad crossings with ped gates, and so should SACRT. Well, I know SACRT doesn’t own any, but still, so no more idiots can cross when a train is about to approach. I know how useless it would be as idiots could still Duck under the gates.

What's the difference between Safetran EM and Griswold EM?

Safetran has their logo on the side with the name, Griswold has their name between the counterweight arms, and RACO also has their logo on the side. Also the Safetrans mechanism doors are a little different than the Griswolds and RACOs.

I'm another one who thinks badly of those idiot teens who ran across the tracks almost right in front of a speeding freight train. But I love this train video otherwise - it's a good catch. (And it can be used in arguing for more shipping by train. This train with 88 cars tooks about 350 trucks off the road).
