Reminds me of that one smut comic where the girl has one of the most awful lives possible. The Fandom then preceeded to turn incredibly wholesome and write fanfics about her being saved or living a good life. Perhaps this is a really strange pattern? One was Josuke from JoJo's healing her.

My favorite part about this game is that it specifically hints that equipping heal items lets them automatically be used when near-death, which is nice for learning boss attacks and all that or running around ammo-less, but if you actually *do* that, the game calls you a big fat cheater at the stats screen. 🍷🗿

iirc the 'death cheated' counter is actually about using the push to interrupt enemy attacks just before they hit you, but I'm not 100% certain

@Oldage429 in the game. if you reach the lowest health value, Critical, and avoid getting hit for long enough, it bumps you back up to Danger. Surviving on Critical, either through Natural Regeneration or Autoinjektors is what "Deaths Cheated" means, and if you do this at least 8 times, the game adds one point to the Promise ending, meaning you're more likely to get that ending specifically. Given that the Promise ending is arguably the best ending, not counting the secret Artifact ending, cheating death is actually a good thing.

Last year, I played Signalis for about 3ish hours and enjoyed it, but unfortunately, I did not have a lot of time to sit down and play any games the end of 2022. A year later, I decided since it was Oct 2023 to play a spooky/horror kind of game and Signalis was at the top of the list. The 1.2 update with the increased inventory size to 8 and the flashlight not taking up an inventory slot was such a breath of fresh air because honestly that was my one critique about the game. There's so many key items that backtracking was constant, I'd pick up an item and immediately keep going back and forth to the save room to deposit items and felt it broke up the flow in an unnecessary manner. I finished Signalis about 2wks ago and I can say that this game went immediately to my top 10 list of all-time.

The thing _Signalis_ excells at probably above anything else is the lore. Read everything you can about the lore and play the game mutliple times if you want to get the most out of it. You're not really supposed to figure out what's happening, but it's really fun to try.

About the Thermite/Crimson method of permantly killing monster that come back to life after a while.: Im actually not 100% sure on why that wasnt done again, but I have to imagine that this method would get frustating after a while if you think about it... plus in most cases, you might get good at dodging and running past enemies, so you save up on inventory space for more important items. This was likely a reason why it isnt used anymore, since players early in the game will find a way to dodge danger, and late game theyll have ammo spilling out of their pockets, alongside whatever explosives they have in their shirt pockets. In addition, this item only really has use IF you have to go back and foward in a specific area, wich become less usefull if the area was: - Really wide meaning you can run around it - Has alternative paths that are less dangerous - the area is part of a really linear horror game, so there isnt really a reason to go back and forth if you only have to move foward.

On the inventory slot thing I argue it adds more than detracts if your not so hard pressed on having everything when moving around. Maybe take a shotgun and ammo and avoid most fights, maybe bring a pistol and health and max stun batons and just tank through some enemies, maybe bring a extra bit of ammo sacrificing that slot if you dont need a flash light or something. I say their is not really a good reason to not have 3 open slots minimum in a given time as long as you are changing your playstyle to suit what you have. Also never use the camera, bait item pen and paper cost no inventory slots xD

There's a casual mode that makes it very easy. Even the normal mode is very very tame by survival horror standards. As in, you can blast down every single enemy in the game and still have ammo to spare when the credits roll.

One really important tip to remember is that you can use thermite flares on enemies the same way you would a stun prod: let's you take them down _and_ burn them in one attack for maximum efficency -- pretty much lets you one-shot the first boss.
