I wish Marshall would make small 5-10 watt versions of these amps for us bedroom players. I had the Slash SL-5 combo at one point, which was a great little amp. Small watt heads would sell like hot cakes!

This amp is INSANELY GREAT!! The versatility is off the charts!! In fact, nothing comes close to the YJM100 (or its sister AFD100) before or since! KT66? KT88? EL34? 6550? 5881? 6CA7? 6L6? No problem!! Insert practically any octal base tube in any combination, hold down two buttons and switch on and watch it magically bias them!! That's just the proverbial tip of the iceberg! I could write a small book on the amazing and indispensable features of this killer Plexi! I bought mine in 2012 and have gigged with it more than any other amp since. I've tried dozens of its competitors and it just can't be beat! She is mated to my '68 1960B cab with killer Celestion Pulsonic 1221s and protects them from getting overworked! I'll never sell mine

I prefer the YJM over the ADF..as I owned the ADF previously..but when Marshall a year later released the YJM, I popped on it!! I haven't loved back..I love it!! my fav amp..I love that both amps are self biasing, plus you can manually tweak the bias as well

The Marshall YJM100 Magic are all the advanced features in the rear and the EL34 Tubes. Power Attenuation, a Noise Gate, Boost (Overdrive), and Digital Reverb...plus a 50W/100W switch. It has 4 inputs like the original Plexi's, so you can add a jumper cable, like the old days to blend both channels. It is a great modernized Super Lead 1959 Marshall at the top of the list of great Plexi's with the classic look. The YJM100 is often compared to the AFD100 Slash Amp...that also has a Power Attenuation feature (front knob), but it uses different tubes and has a non-classic look. #BucketList And I'm not Swedish.

I've got a YJM100, but sadly its broken and the spare part to fix it is no longer available. My amp tech called Marshall directly and found it was out of stock. He tried to get it all working again, but sadly the gate is still not functional. I'd love to get it fixed properly as I miss being able to use it.

Which spare part are you referring to exactly? You mean the whole secondary PCB? As far as I know, the main and secondary PCBs are indeed not available anymore. Btw, if the problem with yours is that the Gate doesn't work, chances are you have the common "IC5 failure" problem and the first thing that starts acting up is the Gate before the Boost stops working as well. In that case all you have to do is have your tech call Marshall and require the "KITS-00180" or the "YJM100 DFXX BOARD REPAIR KIT". I got mine about 2 weeks ago.

@@Toys_in_the_Attic My tech called Marshall directly while I was standing in the room. He wasn't able to get any spare parts out of them at the time, but they sent over all the schematics etc and he was able to repair a lot of it. He reckons he might be able to sort it if he spent enough time looking at it, but said if there is a chip that isn't generic, like the IC5, it might not be fixable. The IC5 was replaced along with the little modification to prevent it from shitting the bed again. The boost is working fine, as long as you switch off the gate immediately. If the gate is on, even turned all the way down, it will have some effect on the tone. If you turn it up, it gets REALLY aggressive and basically muffles everything and just straight up cuts out 95% of the sound.

In my case the Input II sounds completely muddy and useless on its own for some reason but here's the kicker: When i got it to my local Marshall Repair centre to have it checked we connected it to a cab they had there and then it sounded fine! When I got it back home same shit happens again. Can you please tell me if yours sounds muddy when you connect to Input II only? (High/Low doesn't matter) The only logical explanation is that something in my house's electrical wiring affects the amp, I have tried everything else (different cabs/cables/preamp tubes etc)

@@BionicSammich Then have your tech check that too because that shouldn't be the case. It's all relative obviously, but Input II should be perfectly usable on its own. Not so much trebly and "alive" like Input I but still not sounding totally muddy.

A low watt version would not sound like this amp. It has massive output transformers and a built in attenuator that is top of the line. This is probably Marshalls finest amp.
