I understand the signs just orientation is different from person to person. Great video. The *more sign we have learnt at school. My sister who doesn't know Auslan. She is a Japanese business interpreter. She talks with her hands on the phone. It seems weird but she did the more sign without ever being taught. I love learning Auslan. Thanks for posting 🙂 good easy signs for kids.

@@TheMillennialParent will need to find that in KMart, my wife is a Whovian! So far he learned how to ask "how are you?" In auslan but he doesnt have dexterity for it, it ends up as finger guns!

@@raziel520 Your wife is an awesome person😁 Finger guns are awesome and that'd be adorable. I was originally surprised at how quick kids pick up signing.

Super helpful! Maybe something along the lines of making them aware of things? Like "sshh daddy's sleeping" etc

I wonder what 'come' is?
@TheMillennialParent4 жыл бұрын
For "Come" you have your hand cupped with the palm facing up and bring the hand towards yourself with a rise and fall, a similar motion to "eat" but just not to your mouth. "Come here" is the same but after you bring your hand back towards yourself you point with one finger to the ground next to you. I hope I explained that ok😅

I'd love to know the meaning behind why each sign was chosen. Like how they decided which would be for what word
@TheMillennialParent5 жыл бұрын
True! Especially with how different places determined their sign language, not going to lie, I didn't know until learning the keyword sign that different countries had their own sign language...which I guess makes sense but still, it never dawned on me haha
