I like my bestfriend. Sadly, he was straight and only wanted to be friends. It hurts sometimes when I hear him over the phone talking about a girl he liked or at school seeing him talking to other girls and checking them out. Unreasonable, I know, but we did stay friends, thankfully, after I came out to him. My advice on this matter: Be understanding and considerate towards your crush even if he/she cannot/doesn't reciprocate your feelings, especially if that person is your friend or someone close to you.

It was confusing growing up as bisexual because I didn’t understand that strong feeling. I knew I liked girls, and I had plenty of guy friends, but in high school I developed what I now know was a crush on a guy. A friend. At the time I just thought I maybe admired this dude, liked being around him and wanted to hangout. Naturally I developed jealousy, I was a bit clingy at times, and I thought I just REALLY wanted to be his best friend. Happened again maybe 4 years later with a different guy. Both were straight. Now I’ve known both for 5-10 years and while they are indeed some of my very best friends, I definitely had developed feelings for them before I was ready to admit I was bisexual. They both know now that I’m bi, but neither have asked the, “oh...so did you ever have feelings for me?” though they may have guessed by now lol I will say that the infatuation faded the more I saw them as just my friends, and now would never think of either as anything more. I suppose finding out your best friend likes you back is probably amazing, but even if they don’t, they can still be some of the very best friends you’ll have. They’ve been there for me, instantly accepted me coming out, and I wouldn’t trade my friendship with them for anything. Good luck boys and girls, and love to CJ as always!

I'm "bisexual" but lean more towards women bc it's difficult for me to develop a complete bond with men but I'm open to it. I met a pretty chill guy who's interested in much of the same things as me, in time things moved quickly- we hung out many times, we kissed (he wanted me to), talk til 6am after work, drink, smoke together, met his kids, etc. And he told me he couldn't get close to me anymore. I asked why, he didn't give me a specific reason, but what I got was he basically liked me too much and he didn't like how he felt when around me. From what he said, it seems like I made him vulnerable. He's into women and men as well, and would always flirt w me- but now it's completely dark. No communication, rare interactions, no more text responses, at work it's very distant, etc. At first I was mad, angry he wouldn't talk to me about it- but then I grew distant and pushed him away too. And once he noticed that, he tried to be tight w me, and I resumed my way of being distant, he asked what was wrong, i dismissed it bc we've talked about being close even as friends already before this moment, and I told him nothing was bothering me. And a month went by and it's the present, but i can't help but think of him and i miss our friendship, our talks, and just how much we had in common. It sucks, and i don't know whether to be angry, annoyed, move on, or try again at reconnecting. It's like a state of purgatory for my emotions towards this situation, not quite about it, but missing the idea of it. It's extremely confusing and irritating since I work w him.

I get kind of the opposite. I get a lot of "straight" friends that give me hints that they like me. Some straight up tell me at some point, esp if they know I'm bi, that they think I'm cute. It's a mood.

I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to tell this to anyone in person. But I had this office best friend but I no longer see since I resigned from work. We didn’t have the exact same interests but we were as close as anyone could be. We shared our dreams with each other, we got comfortable enough to hold hands, give backrubs, hugs, and lie on each other’s stomachs when we talk. I really do miss him but I feel like I’m pestering him whenever I chat with him. Makes me sad when I miss him but I’m really happy that we got as close as that. He’s the reason I realized that I might be bisexual but he’s straight, so it doesn’t matter anyway. He doesn’t know that I feel this way anyway.

About the hugging and cuddling, a little tip from me (and why I make sure that my friends know that I just like hugging) some people do hug and cuddle with friends and have no romantic feelings for them, so maybe find out if they hug and share blankets with every friend

As a bi girl, I know when I have a crush on a guy but when I have a crush on a girl, I think that I just want to be their friend or that they are just a really good friend. Thinking back, I have actually liked my best friend in that way. I also realize that I may have had more than just three girl crushes. It's more 50/50. I've had 5 boy crushes so far and 5 girl crushes. I knew I had a crush on the boys but with the girls, it was more do just me being in denial.

I suppose in a way I was lucky that I was never physically attracted to my best friend. We’ve been friends for many years, but he is straight and I am gay, and it’s never been a problem. Years ago I did a couple of times have roommates I was attracted to, but sadly they did not feel the same way about me. In fact, it’s never happened that somewhat I was attracted to was attracted to me, which is why I have remained single. That’s just the way it goes sometimes.

I came across your video and looked like I can identify with it. Both of us are straight, but we've never actually met in person yet although we have developed into close best friends for 13 plus years albeit just online. He's recently said he sees me more than just a regular friend and wants me to be loved and appreciated but as he put it not in a "gay way". I love him as a friend and know that I wouldn't want to be sexual or intimate with a guy in person or have a romantic interest because I am still straight even though had thoughts and fantasies mainly about men. However, for my whole adult life never had any real platonic social closeness with others, or specifically with other men in person. We have called the other as a boyfriend, but it's merely in name only. He doesn't want to use labels. Guessing I am just questioning or curious? Just not enough to want to act on anything in person where reality sets in and you wake up. There is part of me that can see how it would be possible if or when we do meet in person, my friend has always looked out for me wanting to make sure I am never uncomfortable, but at the same time we are both straight and at the end of the day still just a nice fantasy. Either way food for thought.

I let a friend camp out on my property every week because he lives in a camper and needs a home base to do laundry, shower etc. One day I came out of my wood shop and he was bathing outside. I was heading to my house and he sort of covered up but I'd seen everything he had, which is a pretty toned body. He pretended to be embarrassed so I talked with him while I walked past him to my front door. He's always mentioning sex things but if I try to sit and talk about sex he clams up or changes the subject. He's gone naked twice outdoors so I'm wondering if I should press him on it. He already refused to use my shower. HMMM.

I come from a different era - and I really wish that I had been brave enough to respond to "straight" friends who made an effort to let me know they were interested. One really good friend told me that he was a great kisser and volunteered to show me how he kisses. But I was too afraid that it was some sort of trap because he was also the roommate of a co-worker and I was still in the closet. I really should have taken him up on his offer, and I hope that I didn't hurt his feelings.

I easily fall to a friend, especially when that friend became really close to me... sadly everything ends up in heartbreak they were all straight. I fell in love with my best friend in high school but he was very straight so I distanced myself after graduation. Fortunately, I was able to move on. Second, was my best friend in college. We were very close. There was a time we almost kiss but he stopped and said he was straight. I stopped for a semester because I was really hurt. When I went back to finish college, I became really close to my research friend, we were like best friends. Again, I caught feeling but he was straight as well. But my relationship with them remained the same as they were still very close to me. The feelings were gone but our friendships with each other stay the same.

I didn't become the boyfriend of my best friend because I don't feel like that for my best friend... If anyone cares to answer , I would appreciate it much. I am a bi guy , currently having a relationship with a girl. My friend that I met like 6 months ago has ended up being one of my closest friends and we tell pretty much to each other. He knows , I am in a relationship and he knows my girl as well. During the last month when I met him in person, because we study in different cities, he told me twice that if I wasn't with my girl he would like to 'put it inside me'. Can that mean anything ? He said to everyone that he is straight but he supports LGBTQ+. He also likes to joke around with that kind of stuff. But I noticed that his behavior is kind of different to me than to other males. Like he does touch me on my shoulder with his hand and he leaves it there for like 5 mins. I'm very confused

Well, first of all, you're in a relationship, so I would suggest thinking about how your partner would feel about it . Secondly, this sounds like classic closet behaviour , ask yourself would you say the same thing to someone else in a relationship.

Am I weird for feeling that falling in love with a friend fells kinda incestuous? At least to me personally, I'm not judging anyone, lol.
