@NIcky, I worked at Knowlton Court Mansion, which was also built by William the Conqueror, and I can tell you now your castle and where I worked looked a 1000 years apart. Great info and presentation 👍 ❤

@🥾Nicky B'S History🥾 Sorry Nicky they didn't allow any photos or videos whilst down there, but it was very interesting, especially the carving of the tree of life, apparently carved by a modern day artist, too prove it was done by a modern artist, the woman named Sandy also carved a spiderman at the base, you can tell right off, it wasnt the same artist, the tree looks ancient and flawless with intricate designs whilst the spiderman looks like a 10 Yr old carved it. Obviously deception. Sure there must be images of it on line, with the bs story they cooked up.

Just had a quick look, loads of images online of the carving but none showing the spiderman, too embarrassed lol

I'll check it out online.. Interesting about the carving/artwork.. Pretty sure theres something similar near me but it is only about 20/30yrs old from memory.. Might have to checj it for myself.. I find if you cant film/take photos theres something amiss.. Hope you had a great day tho🙏🙏😎💚

Hiya nicki, i noticed the land around where you were reading from was quite steep. That and the nature of the wind would likly cause not necessarily a slip but an inch or so of topsoil every storm, especially with no trees or bushes to hold it all together. To be three floors deep and still standing also shows that it wasnt a mudflood event either in my opinion. Its good we get to see the construction methods here to, two walls tied together and filled with chips and stuff,, built like one of those old brick houses in the corner of the garden(kids ears lol). Also these types of properties and 2x 5og wouldnt last more than five years before your filling for bankruptcy and begging the trust to take it off your hands. I must say thóugh they should be more open to working with skilled groups or knowledgeable people who know the history. Did you say it was marshland south of that wall? I dont know why it looks cut off like that unless there is swampy just under the surface or maybe a deep fracture into the bedrock?? Fascinating place again my freind, if i go looking and find answeres ill post back here, if time permits. Ps how steep do you think the hill was by where you were reading from,,at a guess?. Thanks for anorher great one, take careof yourselves.👍😊✌️

Hi Peter... Thanks for the message... Certainly something to think about! Marshland i believe is just to the north of the "ridge". The castle itself is fairly high up and is a bit of a walk but quite accessible 😎💚

Lovely presentation ! What a beautiful place. It's really good to get some local ' history ' and views of the surrounding area / landscape for context. Otherwise it's just a pile of ' rock ' and could be anywhere. When I hear the National Trust in a sentence, I immediately think Rothschild 🤡's . ♥

You have a right to be. They can't change old print ,books, area history etc. If you can cross reference and find early writings. The NT can't change much old stuff. What they seem to do is advertise and sell Callender a with a few facts they've made up ,or a short history booklet type thing . An hour in a library seeing what was written before they had anything to do with it. Early maps from council buildings or post office or church etc or censuses. Another plus , locals usually hate the NT trying to change things making their lives harder may be worth chatting to locals oaps, you know how they can talk your ear off sometimes😉take care👍👀

@@peterdeans4635 Agree! Older people are vital for information. Some day we''ll be those older people, passing on what we have learned. I have heard it said that oral history is more reliable. On books, as long as we keep in mind when cross referencing books , maps + reports etc. just who wrote them. But I'm not going to worry about these things today as it's the first day of sunshine , after a week of cloud + heavy rain.🌞☀Hope you have sunshine too!

Always sunshine my freind🌞. Yeah I agree, I was meaning top shelf books , not school books, but reference books. Point being they don't hide the stuff we are lookiñg fór ín hard to read books. I've only seen shananigans in new books myself, books before the fifties say seem pretty safe. But yes It depends on what information your looking for as to what you consider a good source. Enjoy the sun, have a great day🌞👍😊

The science of exploration was closed off in 1958. The IGY International Geophysical Year 1957-1958 was a year dedicated to science and exploration of Earth. After a year it was decided that we had seen and knew everything there was to know about our realm. Please move along there is nothing else to see here. With only secretive government missions exploring Antarctica and the Deep Seas, everything else was deemed unnecessary. In 1959 NASA was formed and man's desire for exploration was steered specifically in to outer space. A Govt Dept was now officially in control of our imagination and now showed us all kinds of composite imagery of things that we could never see or experience for ourselves. Time to get out and touch grass again. Thank You.
