I cannot describe how heartwarming it is knowing a pastors first instinct in seeing a person in need is to push the pedal down farther and distance himself from them. The church never fails to surprise me

Remember, in our selfishness, distance is always what our first instinct is. A pastor is no different from anyone else... we all are I need of the urge from our Savior!

@@paulmeador6283 you don't need to have Jesus in your heart to want to help people inherently. Ghandi, Malala Yousafzai, Saraswathi Gora all have done amazing activism work. I mean the satanic temples first tenet is to act with compassion and empathy towards all things. Surprisingly people don't need the threat of eternal torture to treat others with love and kindness.

@@paulmeador6283 well this church hates free speech and deleted my comment but in short: lots of people who didnt/dont believe in Jesus chose the devote their lives helping others. If they don't need the urge of the savior why does this pastor who already has the urge I'm presuming, still have to force himself to want to help people.

He goes into 4 points of “proof we are growing in Christ” so that if a person claims to be a believer this is what life should look like… Proof #1 Bearing fruit (which is written in depth in John 15:5). This is at time stamp 16:28 Proof #2 Growing in Knowledge (being a student of Jesus, a student of the word of God, growing in Christian disciplines). This is at time stamp 27:40 Proof #3 We should be strengthened with His power (the strength that we have comes from Him and not ourselves, we should be constantly relying on his strength and his power). This is at time stamp 33:44 Proof #4 we should have gratitude (in essence he was saying we should every single day be consciously aware of the GRACE that has been given to us, the gift, what Jesus did on the cross, how we have been reconciled to God, how we were lost and now found, how were were guilty standing before God and now stand innocent, how we were children of wrath and now stand as children of God, it was all due to Jesus. We contributed nothing to our salvation. Remember what God has done for us when we did not deserve it-do not stop being grateful). This is at time stamp 40:14
