I overwintered some Thai chilis & Cayennes here in Massachusetts USA first time this fall (by a South facing window in my basement) . Mine looking similar to yours at this point. I’m surprised at the abundance of foliage on some plants after only a month. Perhaps my basement a lil’ too warm for dormancy?

Yes the warmth definitely increases the growth, but it's fine don't worry, not a problem. Mine will soon start flowering in a month or two, I'll then prune the flower so the energy is focused on general growth. I'll post another video early next year. Keep me updated on how your plants get on, thanks 👍

Hi ,do you water them or how often you water them while overwintering, thank you

@@ninacalvo8823 hello, I would water lightly every couple of weeks, not too much though. If the soil is slightly damp, that is perfect.

My Chilli plants are still in the ground in a polytunnel (UK), the foliage has been dying off do you think they will survive in there or need digging up & bringing indoors? if of course I'm not too late already!

If there is space indoors then do take them in. I reckon the cold harsh frosty mornings will be too much for them. Or you can bring a few indoors and leave the remaining in the polytunnel covering them with a fine fleece, this may help, a nice experiment to see what happens. Prune off most of the leaves and thin stems, give the roots a bit of a haircut too. Let me know how you get on!
