Yo thank you so much!! Little fun fact I played drums for the band from 2015-16 and I’ve been a drummer nearly my whole life! Bass was always a second instrument for me but I just wanted to stay involved with the band any way I could so it worked out that way. I ended up having to fill in as drummer for a few tours in 2018 so by the time it became official in late 2019 it just seemed natural for us at the time and luckily everything worked out very well! I noticed that too. The light gain tone. It cuts very well. It has a lot of definition. Ive always noticed that when recording but too scared to go that light on the gain. Lol. Edit - Sounds like EMG 707Xs with a 24 volt mod.

Maybe I’ve just been away from the style of metal for too long but I don’t feel like I’ve seen this foot technique a lot lately. Can anyone link me to a video where I can hear what this sounds like raw and unedited? It looks super smooth, but seems like it feels like it’s not very powerful at all.

@@elijerrr It's heel-toe double strokes, but at that speed you can't really see the full motion. It's wide spread among all play styles. There are a lot of videos out here explaining them, or look at other dummers like anthony barone or evgeny novikov

I want to specifically hear raw audio of a drummer playing with this technique without samples or triggering of any kind. Does that make sense? If not then don’t worry about it lol.
