I remember when I was in elementary school, it was a wednesday of the first month and all of the kids were playing on the playground. There was this girl from California, and she had been told there was tornadoes in Minnesota, and when the siren when off she went crazy, you think someone would have told her but everyone just let her panic.

When you're from a small Midwestern town, it feels nice to be acknowledged. A town about 30 mins away got mentioned in a book i read and i was excited. I am an American Harry Potter fan and I am developing my own American version of Harry Potter titled Mary Arianna Smith The Girl Who Lived and I want my version of the Illvermorny School to be as accurate as possible to actual North American cultures and to do much better than Rowling did ! There are way too many Etc Etc’s to cover in a simple comment here but will say that my version of Illvermorny and MACUSA has no Statute Of Secrecy and Magical and Non Magical People are friends but not enemies for the most part and yes you can definitely tell what Magical People from the 5 different Regions of the United States are from they are more different from each than the Non Magic People from the 5 Regions of the United States are from ! And for some trivia Midwestern Witches of European descent often have Red hair, Fair skin tones and Attractive freckles and a very very pretty accent and way of talking and Do Not have hardly any dreams about engaging in The Dark Arts too much and it is the same way with there Midwestern Wizard of European descent counterparts too ! And finally most GOOD Slytherin’s and Pure Bloods come from North America it’s just those European ones that are the Voldemort and Bellatrix types ! Mary Smith is part Slytherin and part Hufflepuff but my version of Illvermorny has no Houses at all ! Let me know what you think about this !

You know you grew up in the Midwest when you hear a Tornado Siren and you go outside to look around. I once had a friend from California that stayed in Ohio for a little while and she got so spooked when she heard the Tornado siren. She literally was trying to duck and cover as I kept walking. lol

Taylor Biersack I went to College in upstate ny and used to wear shorts and a t shirt in 40 degrees. Now I’ve been in Florida for 4 months and when it hit 70 I put on a long sleeve shirt and considered rushing to the mall to get a full winter jacket.

Yes we have accents, literally everyone has an accent. It differs a little based on the state or how far north you are, and some are stronger than others. I've heard the Kansas accent is the closest to a standard American accent, maybe that's what you're referring to.

As someone who grew up in Michigan, moved to Florida and then spent the past 21 years in Massachusetts, I can tell you with great certainty it is almost impossible to stop angering New Englanders with a friendly "hi" or "how are you" as you walk by them, while they avert their eyes and literally fear engagement with another human being they didn't intend to engage with.

I was born in Dayton, Ohio, so I am officially licensed to judge to accuracy of this video. Yes, bean-bag toss is the regional sport (though I do not remember it being called "Cornhole"), everyone is addicted to ranch, there are no oceans, only lakes, and the Ohio State / Michigan rivalry has, according to legend, taken many lives.
