I'm happy I saw your video today. I never heard about Sigtuna before. I wonder if Sweden puts on fresh red paint on those runestones? It's impressive that the color is still visible. I really enjoy history about Sweden. Another great video you have presented. Thanks from North Carolina, U.S.A.

Thank you so much! And I'm sorry to say, but the paint is indeed painted on in modern times. They're basing the choice of paint on traces of old paint though, to make it authentic.

Great town to visit to see an old place, you can spend a good few hours there. Be sure to walk around and see the ruins and lake/surrounds. Really liked it.

Looks so relaxing and also much history! I just moved to Vallsta outside of Bollnas. I am an American but Sweden is my home now. I have enjoyed learning of Sweden and its towns and history so Sigtuna is on my list to visit! After seeing the Gs 13 Runestone in Gavle 2 weekends ago I know I have to see the ones in Sigtuna!

Hope you enjoy it up there in Vallsta! I'm actually planning on checking out Gävle a bit more soon as well - mostly just passed by it so far. Sigtuna is really amazing to see, and if you go there by car make sure to check out Vallentuna as well. You can google "Runriket" to see a list of many more runestones in that area :)

Yeah it's relatively close - but it's a bit to the west and a bit off in general. But worth a detour for! ^_^

Actually you can almost call Vendel older then Sigtuna. It doesn’t look like it did during the Vendel age at all, but you should check it out. :)

All of the UK is part Viking! Vikings spread their DNA quite well over there... But I would imagine that there's a fair share of inbred townspeople around there, who could trace their lineage back quite a bit.
