Saw them at Red Rocks in 2008. So beautiful. Their music saved my life then , and it’s saving it again now... ❤️

Thanks to whoever posted this! Back in 2008-2009, I looked for a recording of this show on the internet for a while. Yes, the first two songs have been taken out. I remember a really brutal sound system error at the end of the second song, "Vaka". It probably took 5 minutes to fix. I imagine that the first two songs were cut to avoid showing the sound system errors. The first two songs were "Svefn-f-englar" > "Vaka". This was the first time I ever saw Sigur Ros. This show is still by far the most incredible musical experience I've ever had. The video almost doesn't do it justice, what it was like being in that crowd. It was 4000 kind, appreciative people. Quite rare in a late-night set at a festival based around reckless consumption. Everyone was quiet. I read on the internet that Sigur Ros were "inconsolable" after this show. I always found this kind of funny, because I (an 18 year old kid at the time) was completely blown away. I guess it's just proof that subjectivity and perspective are very powerful forces indeed.

lol I remember the sound thing. It was because Mastodon had blown the outdoor stack speakers earlier that day... I remember that happening too, lol. This was the first time I had ever even heard of Sigur Ros... I cried for TWO STRAIGHT HOURS. It was THE most beautiful experience of my life. I heard the inconsolable thing too... I wondered if they thought it would have been one of the best shows the ever did and the sound system thing just ruined it for them? Awesome band.

+reflectwhat In almost 20 years of going to hundreds of concerts I have never been to a show like that. Even with the sound issues at the beginning, with their performance and the time and location and crowd I still believe it's the best show I've ever seen or will ever see.

+Scott V It can't just be me. Do you remember, before Sigur Ros took the stage, like the front half of the tent was standing, and the back half sitting, then people started chanting "Sit down" and the front turned and started chanting "Stand up!"? That continued for a few minutes as people kind of sat and stood until the balls came down and lit up the room, then everyone stood up and started cheering. It was truly beautiful from start to finish.
