This is due to never getting over her past and still receiving her sealed memories. Everyone talking about the artist so I’ll talk about the background art. The background art are Emilia and Subaru from the anime Re:Zero but this version specifically is from a canonical “What if?” version written by the original author in which Subaru (main character) accepts Echidna’s deal of her helping him to achieve his goals in exchange of him listening to everything he asks of him. This led to him achieving his “perfect” world where he is really close to getting Emilia on the throne but she is basically mentally dead (idk how its called but she is like an empty vessel) but he has died millions of times because echidna asks him to die even to know how the weather will be that day

That picture reminds me of getting dragged by you're parents to a formal family event on the weekend even though you already had plans. Anyhow, you try to look at it positively and don't make a fuss. Its not going well from the start, you wake up far earlier then usual and change into clothes that are absolutely uncomfortable. As soon as you reach the event you're already being worked, "Go do ____", "Get me ____ from ____", "Go ask ____ for ____", the entire day goes by just like this. You came with a positive mindset that maybe it wont be so bad but every hour that passed revealed to you were wrong all along. It's almost midnight and the events at its closing time. You finally get a minute to relax, you open your phone to check whats goin on with all your friends who are having a better weekend then you and you see all the pictures they've uploaded of going on a road trip or vacation to somewhere. You see a couch nearby so you drop your heavy body onto a couch like a sack of rocks and breath in a deep sigh. As you sit down someone sits right next to you. Ah it's your cousin who's been doing the same work you've been doing since morning. You both are too tired to enchange pleasantries or even glances. You just look at something while you blur your vision cause honestly even your iris muscles are tired, the sounds and music fade into the background as you think about how the day should have gone. "God I want to go home" you think over and over again.
