one thing about the Red Pen part, he also talks about using it in a way to grade an exam. In Japan, school teachers also use red pens to grade exams, hence why the last lyric becomes "I got 0 points." In context of siinamota talking about how many mistakes he made and self-evaluating his own life, it's made pretty clear that he viewed it as meaningless and something he completely failed at, therefore having no reason to continue on living pretty sad if you ask me
@ClareAmel5 ай бұрын
Yeah, this is a more grounded interpretation of the song. He’s constantly comparing himself to unnamed people in the song, asking he’d be surely happy if he could just be like someone else, right? In Japan, they circle correct answers on your assignments. The lyrics go “The first circle I’ve drawn is also the last,” and he clarifies that that circle is a zero, essentially saying he never did anything right with his life. Other lyrics in the song suggest that he knew what he had to do to get “red marks,” or “circles,” but it felt like a “lie” and “nonsense” to him. He wanted to be himself, but never felt like he had the right to. This was a kid who in my interpretation loathed conformity on top of his struggle with what I believe is depression.
@PalkisAlt5 ай бұрын
@@ClareAmel yeah Im pretty sure throughout some of his songs it talks about conformity and all the negatives of it (A Palette Full Of You makes this pretty clear imo) Although, in Red Pen he also talked about a person that he clearly misses, and within urban legend context, it’s not too farfetched that he’s also essentially saying he wants to join that person in the grave (like what the video said lmao)

thank you for making a video about girl A that *actually talks* about siinamota's life. I've seen so many comments reduce the song to "emo tiktok audio." and yeah, they're right: girl A is emo. but it's SUPPOSED to be emo. girl A, like much of siinamota's music, encompasses his experiences with bullying, death, heartbreak, and the struggles of growing up. it's emotional and unsettling and raw; that's what makes it beautiful. I don't mind people calling it "emo", but I don't want them to simply dismiss the song because its darker meaning. I want people to appreciate his music, to recognize the sheer artistry of it. the fact that siinamota started composing at age 14 just shows his extreme level of skill and passion, which is evident in his work. honestly, nobody else can capture the feelings of confusion, fear, and uncertainty, yet hope in a catchy melody like he does. I don't support "sampling" (aka blatant theft), but I'm glad it's led to people discovering him. and I hope this video encourages people to listen to more of his discography!!! edit: obviously there's a difference between sampling creatively and just slapping a beat over a pre-existing song, and I should've made it more clear. my main complaint was addressing the latter, especially because the word "sampling" these days seems to be used as a justification for profiting off of someone else's hard work. sorry to anyone who went insane trying to correct me in the replies + you all have valid opinions :)
@Giovansbilly5 ай бұрын
So all form of sampling is just plagiarism and composers should be encouraged to produce music by thinking of original tunes, and if they get any genuine inspiration or idea from other songs, try to make them sound very different instead of leaving it basically the same but just slightly altered?

I think sampling is okay if the music is so old that it doesn't fall under copyright or trademark. The Caretaker's, "Everywhere at the End of Time," is a great example of this. Using that which feels familiar to us to tell a beautifully tragic story.

Thank you for talking about him. Here’s a few other facts: He was actually 19 when he released, “Ikiru.” It dropped right before his 20th birthday. After the posthumous album, “Therefor.,” another song, or rather a remix made by him was on PinocchioP’s, “BEST OF PINOCCHIOP,” album, in 2021. Siinamota did a remix of, “Nice to Meet You, Earthling!” He actually also used Megurine Luka in his very early works, particularly in his first album, “Sepia Record.” He has also used GUMI quite a bit also. Many of his songs were vents, such as, “Q,” where people have said it was him mourning a friend who passed away. He had very few live shows. Most of them were on Nicovoca night (or something along those lines.) Before his University student controversy, besides his P-name (PowapowaP) he went by Furukawa Noro. He changed it to Siinamota after a hiatus and joining GINGA, his music label before he passed.

i listened to "インマイヘッド" (in my head) siinamota from an EP called コケガネのうた (Cokegane no Uta, Kokegane no Uta) and looking at the lyrics, the entire thing just makes sense he has been living in quite a pain, it feels like he shared a glimpse of his life, and apparently he overdosed in loxonin. i can't explain lyrics well, the lyricism is too complex for me, but he seems to struggle portraying himself as a persona online, and the song explains a glimpse of his real life struggles and whats on his mind... being a downtempo post-rock song, looking at the song itself, he's gone through so much just to exist. i love looking back at his song discography, not just young girl A and Alive/ikiru. i STILL listen sepia record till this day! its insane how amazing his first debut album was...

Think about how you’re bothering the people around you!" these lines really hits the spot because he really describes himself being bipolar really well alongside this one unrelated, but i listen to kiichi and frog96 nowadays but i still occasionally do listen to siinamota to look back and just phase out while i procrastinate

I've been listening to Hatsune miku for sometime and knew some lyrics were heavy but I never imagined it to be one of the genres with a lot of serious things and it really amazes me

you missed someting: in his twitter he also always talked like he is suicidal and this for example: Now that I'm an adult, I've lost my charm. It seems like I'm not supposed to be an adult. this tweet was his last one and it was posted the day he died and he also tweeted other things and the song that he posted the day he died he also added in the video text where he pretended to be the user comments where he wrote stuff like that and much more: good bye rip i miss you so much his last song why did he kill himself siinamota we miss you damn, i found siinamota too late, i wish i knew about him before he died i cant believe he is dead we miss siinamota so its for sure suicide
