Nothing like hunting Sika deer in MD. I was introduced to it about 6-7 years ago and I fell in love with it. I hunt in Dorchester county, about 7-8 miles south of Vienna at Fishing Bay WMA. Tough hunting for sure.

That had to be record time from actual hunt to posting here and elsewhere...excellent! And glad to see you got 4WD again in the big beast! I particularly liked your "advice" there at the end. It's something I struggle with because of familial obligations, primarily my elderly mom. There's a season for everything...

I know what you're going through. I am a hardcore hunter and was fortunate enough to hunt all over and take several hunting trips per year. My mom was diagnosed with two separate cancers five years ago and I was her primary caretaker. My hunting suffered tremendously because of it. My mom passed away a month ago and I would do it all over again. I know the frustration you're feeling, but trust me, you'll be happy when you're mom is gone someday knowing that you were there for her when she needed you! Good luck!

Been going here for years and didn’t Learn about the sika population this year. Thinking about doing this same adventure next year. Anything special to consider?

The only think you have to watch out for is that the seasons are different from the state of Maryland

I hunted on the coast of GA 2 years ago and it was so odd, to be hunting on a beach. It felt like I should be fishing....but it was really cool nonetheless.

I live here surf those waters and hunt the marshes. Hunting Assateague is tuff not alot of deer on island. Try Dorchester county

I’m used to maybe seeing a deer a day in the mountains. This place was paradise. I know Dorchester is sika Meca, but I was already down that way cleaning out a family place before it’s sold. I’m going to hunt somewhere in Dorchester next but I wasn’t disappointed on the island.
