But an overhead not being able to hit someone low to the ground is even worse. I love the MK characters with their viscous and brutal combat for sure. But I have now truly seen why most of the FGC from other games think MK is trash! That clip pretty much proves their point. They have a platform now called the Internet. The landscape has morphed into a room full of babies! Sikk is from the Era of having REAL SKILL. Most of the idiots online whom NRS breeds and caters to are a bunch of children who cry and complain about those who are better and more skilled. Tanya has a disjointed hurtbox on that move, in certain point of the move her hurtbox goes under the floor making it impossible to hit her and it depends on the timing she's frozen by clone. NRS games have had this problem since MK9. Mileena's ball roll in MKX completely ignored MIDS, Lows, Overheads and highs and only had a 3 frame window to hit her on startup to stuff it on wakeup. NRS needs to fix these hitbox issues. Specifically they need to make Tanyas hurtbox larger and high enough that mids, overheads and lows all hit her but highs wiff.

I'd need to see this situation again and see where the hit and hurtboxes are because I can definitely see this whiffing. A ducking op can get smacked but Tanya was literally lying on the ground. That first swing whiffed. Its an overhead but still a stubby one. Rain's F3, 4 or Lao's F2 would have hit. It sucks it happened but hey, adapt and move on. Also, a bigger question is why everyone has a High 1 combo string starter, and the 2nd hit of the string is a mid that hits in the same area as the first, but can't be ducked. And certain low kicks are mids even though they are low hitting. Shid, it still doesn't make sense how you are able to duck D2's and throws.

I agree 100% cause I used to main Sub Zero and Sometimes some of his string don’t work properly if only NRS had the balls to buff this character but thanks to The edinian clan they probably won’t even look at sub I was so mad when I experienced the same issue with Kitana’s hurt box some of the strings can’t even hit when shes low to the ground.Ex if you read the DB3 fan toss and you read it on f12 the string completely misses for some reason

There were times when Sub Zero would freeze my Reptile's low gator move with an Ice Clone and punished me with b2. So you know that Overheads are supposed to hit opponents who are literally flat on the ground. And NRS intended to do it that way which is why my Reptile got punished. However, this particular clip does not make sense as it should follow the same principle and the b2 should connect. NRS should be fixing this for Tanya

Gonna be honest, you are maining a character with weird mechanics (ice clones) 15% of the time you are gonna be the victim of those weird mechanics. Sure, it's rough when moments like this happen (especially during a tournament), but no human can know every single interaction after less than a year with a game. While overheads are meant to always hit crouching opponents, they are intended for just that. A lot of overheads come from a high angle attack, meaning they're not all gonna reach low enough for a character frozen in a Low Profile position. I know MK players are unfamiliar with Low Profiles (a very common fighting game mechanic) but they exist, and they usually need to be blown up with lows. And yes, I am willing to beef set on that, though me winning doesn't devalue your opinion any more than just like you winning doesn't devalue mine.

Saying the overhead shouldn’t connect makes no sense- she’s frozen from an animation that does not have her knocked down- if she delayed wake-up from a hard knock down duh- but she is not laying down- she’s in an attack animation. Saying this overhead shouldn’t connect means that when you duck the overhead shouldn’t connect. Then you have the issue that if you did b3 to sarenna- would she be stood up from that animation or would she be fallen down which would make the sarenna move miss? Why risk that when you should be able to launch her with b2 , get a full combo punish , and win the round. - I posted that comment before I saw you lab it at the end.

I've encountered the same issue with the overhead countless times since the game launched. The only solution i've found i startin the fwd 1, 2 string. The fwd 1 is gonna miss 80% of the time but the following 2 will hit and you'll be able to keep the combo going. (Even without spending bars if you have the right kameo. For example: sub or sareena). Let's hope NRS studio will fix this soon.

I'm not a pro player but I play fighting games since 31 years now so I know how they work... or how they are supposed to work. An overhead is supposed to hit a crouched character so a character near of the ground. S-Z's overhead can hit an airborne opponent in a combo so it can hit a frozen Tanya near of the ground BECAUSE it's what an overhead is supposed to do ! Such bad faith is just human stupidity at its best.
