@@kurtrichter292 As an Indian living in India, I'm in no position to comment on the state of the trucking industry in the US. However, here's a question - are there enough truck drivers in America? I understand trucking is a tough profession; it takes one far away from home and family and causes a significant amount of fatigue. This is perhaps why not a lot of locals are willing to drive trucks, and the reason immigrants are able to become truck drivers. Sikhs, in general, are a hardworking and industrious community; they're held in great regard in India. These are only conjectures. I could be entirely wrong; feel free to correct me if I am. Much respect to you from India.
@sbh08923 жыл бұрын
@Human Being Here in India, Sikhs are considered great soldiers and military officers. They can definitely endure the rigors of trucking. Unlike the Amish, who undoubtedly are hardworking and industrious, Sikhs don't form separate communities away from society; they integrate into the wider society while holding on to their religious identity. I hope the state of the trucking industry improves soon. Truckers are important to the economy. Best wishes from India.

Jesus Christ loves you and He will save us from our sin if we put our faith and trust in Him! we all sinned and fell short of the glory of God (romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is death! (romans 6:23) but the gift of God is this john 3:16-21: “for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” and romans 10:9-13: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” so God is coming at a time we least expect, and if we put our faith and trust in Him He will gift us His grace and clothe us with the righteousness of His blood (but of course death could not hold Him, He is risen!) and we will have eternal life in His kingdom where there will be there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying. there will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. because He loves you so much! (romans 5:6-8) but if we deny and reject Him and don't repent from our sins to follow God, then we will have our part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. because no liar, no thief, no blasphemer (using Gods name in vain as a cuss word to express anger or disgust) and no adulterer (Jesus Christ says in matthew 5 that anyone who looks someone lustfully has already committed adultery with them in their heart) will enter the kingdom of heaven. so hear these words, repent and believe the gospel! accept Jesus Christ and confess your sins to Him so that He will forgive you and save you from hell where the fire will never be quenched and give you a life with truth, love, joy, and peace in His kingdom instead which will never fade away or perish. this is all if you haven't done this yet and Jesus Christ hasn't saved you yet, God bless you! 🙌👑💟

There was one time police had to stop a bunch of truckers on the 401 and they charged 3 drivers for following to close to each other.... they were basically tailgating other truckers and blocking the lanes so cars couldn't pass.... they were all Indian drivers. This person represents the reason why immigrants to the US are important. They come here looking for a better life for themselves and their families and usually find it. They want to become a citizen in a new country without giving up key aspects of who they are, and America is the only place in the world this can happen. They bring the best of their culture while trying to leave behind the worst, and in the process enrich us all. They want to be valued and valuable and immediately take advantage of the myriad of opportunities available in the U.S. These are the people we want to come. We can and should see our own ancestors in these people. In day past he could have been the Irish Catholic escaping a potato famine, or a Polish Jew looking for religious freedom, or a Swede wanting to start a farm. Salary is rising in North America, because truck drivers are rare and younger drivers prefer the family life over making lots of money (but not be at home very much). We have to agree that being a truck driver is not a nice life if you have young children, but for retired people, it's more like making a trip every time they get on the road: it's not a job anymore. And companies respect their drivers because they know that they are very much rare.

Sikhs are honourable people. Ive had the fortune to meet a lot of them. Every time I went to my friends house, their moms would not let me go without food. You'll see their community setting up sheds on traffic lights to give lassi on hot summer days or build food banks for poor.

They have a huge public feeding up in the Vancouver, B.C. area every year. The food is terrific.

Regardless of his colour, race or religion, he goes to work, does his job and goes home to his family at the end of his shift. He enjoys what he does and it allows him to provide for his family. I'm in the Transport Industry in Western Australia (Public Transport for me) and love it! Keep up the good work, brother!

We love our Sikhs in india . Hindus love Sikhs . It amazing to have a couple of " khalsas in the gang . " Resourceful " , " largehearted " , " Brave " , " Chutzpah" are the words you associate with the sardars

I'm proud to call Indians part of America -- they really do make America great again. Strong family culture, work ethic and smart. If the world unites and puts our minds together we can accomplish great things but politics in the media seeks to constantly divide us.

Nothing against these people. I know they are just trying to get by in the world, like everyone else. That doesn't change the fact that the reason big trucking lobbies for work visas is to keep wages and quality of life down. Making 40k a year while living in a truck 27 days a month is a good deal if you live in India on a dollar a day, but American truckers deserve better.

Well that's just the other side of globalization things get cheaper because wages are decreased

Im glad to hear that you dont take the immigration policies and decision made by your politicians on the immigrants. Many Americans have legit concerns but they target the wrong people. They hate on immigrants. When the fault is of the politiciand who dont take the concerns of their consituents into account. Ofc with more immigrants who will vote in politicians friendly to immigration, it does get a bit convoluted about how to solve this issue.

Harvey: This is, alas, the story in so many industries. Take the Information Technology sector - wages are today what they were 35 years ago - down! Reason: engineers from India.
