You’re welcome Mark! :-) Although the box of the ferry says 1:50, the regular Siku models (like the Bugatti Veyron) are 1:55 scale. Some annotations 2:33 - the brochures were printed for the german market, ie Germany, Austria and most probably Switzerland. 3:46 - shipping rates as a whole are quite expensive. Sending small boxes even cost around 25 bucks. 4:10 - correct. The new batches from Siku come out in January, March, June and September. 5:20 - those „transport type vehicles“ are a Mercedes Sprinter (the blue one) and an Iveco Camper (the red and white vehicle). 10:40 - it’s the copyright date. 10:45 - the Dodge police car I’ve sent you has seperate plastic pieces for the head- and taillights. But since then, Siku has retooled the model. The head- and taillights are now part of the body - no more plastic pieces. Same thing happened with the red Porsche Carrera GT. 13:10 - Personally, I can’t stand those wheels anymore. Siku puts that type of wheel on pretty much anything - from the VW Van to the Dodge Charger to the Porsche 911. I have talked to the team-in-charge at Siku and they have already developed a new type of wheel. ;-) Siku used to develop different rims for almost every casting! The rims on the Bugatti are a perfect example. Same with the wheels on the Citroen Traction Avant, Lamborghini Roadster and Porsche Carrera GT (all three models are old castings). 14:04 - Majorette did the SLS AMG - with opening gullwing doors as well. 14:52 - the doors are metal. 19:33 - ASFINAG stands for „Autobahnen- und Schnellstraßen-Finanzierungs-Aktiengesellschaft“. They are responsible for the Austrian Autobahn (motorway). The ASFINAG doesn’t have anything to do with the Austrian Police. 20:05 - the headlights might have yellowed over time. I need to check my examples. 20:38 - the tow hook is permanent. 20:48 - „Sieper GmbH“ is the company who owns Siku. It’s a VW T5 Multivan (Facelift version). 21:30 - almost the same car. Different headlights, different rear. ;-) 22:28 - Thanks! Been collecting my whole life. :-) 22:55 - We don’t have any problems with swappers or missing cars. At least it’s not an issue here in Vienna. 23:53 - Yes, it’s a licensed car. Wiesmann is a german car brand founded in 1988. 24:20 - The head- and taillights on the Wiesmann are painted. 26:02 - It’s an older casting, so they probably wanted to resemble a Pagani Zonda. 26:52 - You probably think of the Jaguar XJ 220. 28:22 - lots of collectors collect Siku models. The Farm range is pretty popular here. 29:20 - Yes, that’s the address of Siku’s headquarter in Germany. The model is a Mercedes-Benz Actros Fire Engine, not a generic. 29:37 - Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 29:50 - different castings and different scales. 30:25 - another Mercedes Sprinter. 112 is the emergency code for Germany and for other european countries. 32:00 - hahaha! Gave me a good laugh!!! :-) ok, seriously, the Space Shuttle doesn’t have a window. None of them. I have checked multiples to make sure before I bought it. It seems that when Siku moved part of their production back from China to Europe (Poland) they retooled a bunch of castings not to have the plastic inserts for the taillights anymore and to all sport the same wheels, probably to compensate for the higher wages cost than China. And I'm fine with that, I think it's a bold move to start producing in Europe again and I will support them for it. I don't see Hot Wheels moving production back to the US any time soon ;-)

If I'm not mistaken the VW Police van in the 20 minute mark, is just a common VW Transporter. When I traveled overseas we rented one to travel around in while mountain bike racing. I think I liked the 5 pack of Siku castings. The Weisman is a licensed model. Hand build with a BMW power plant.

Siku make very good quality cars! I was realy surprise when I bought their 1/64 scale Bugatti Chiron last year. Everything was there : opening doors, insert for the tailslights, nice paint quality. My only issue is the wheels don't look that nice (but at least they have rubber tires! :P) and maybe no suspension but it's ok. They remember me my Majorette cars.

I get the little bugs in my cars too. Lol. But I think the Porsche Carter’s GT’s engine compartment opens. Also the ambulance and police vans are based on Mercedes.

Siku cars aren't exactly very cheap either in Europe, although they have different price ranges depending on the model and if it features opening parts. The cheaper ones are 2.5 to 3 Euros each. Wiesmann GT MF 4 at 23:48 is an actual car that was first produced in 2003 by the Wiesmann company in Germany. But i wouldn't ride that Space Shuttle in space without a window :) If you want more European cars, Siku is a good brand to collect. Thanks for showing these Mark!

I collect that Iveco camper, have never found the red one in the singles so I guess it's exclusive to the ferry... Just don't want to spend €45 for the ferry just to obtain the RV 😂 Great vid Mark! More of this kind of content please ;-)

If only the manufacturers would value your work and understand the amount of money they earn thanks to you! In 2017 I started buying some diecast cars for my oldest godsons' birthday. But I was buying cars randomly without knowing what was available so I started looking online for catalogs and stumbled onto Racegrooves. It made me realize it is OK for a grown-up to collect diecast (toy) cars. The way you pitch the produce of the companies that won't support you would make anyone start to collect, and so did I. Since then Mattel and others have made a nice amount of money on me, all thanks to you basically, and you deserve to be acknowledged by them for that imo!

Majorette is more Siku size than HW size imo. Majorette has welded shut the doors of its SLS nowadays btw ;-) Norev did an opening gullwing doors version too. I have the SLS also by UCC, Welly and Kyosho, all with non-opening doors. Ordered the Tomica version on HLJ, that one might have opening doors, but I'm not sure 🤔

Siku does the "Siku World" stuff. They are offering crossings, straight and curved sections, but you can't compare them to Hot Wheels track. I think you could compare them to the street base plates Lego produces.

Silverfish! That's it! As for fitting in the Jammers, I highly doubt it but I will try to remember to check.

OK, I checked to see if they fit in Jammers. Most of the licensed cars fit. What doesn't fit are generally the models with the tow hitch and those longer exotic cars from the 5-pack. I could use a Jammer but there's only two spaces for models that don't fit in the regular cubbies. I have more cars than those two larger storage spaces can handle so I'm not going to have some in a Jammer and the others somewhere else. For now, I will put stuff back in their original packages but later on, I might use the same adjustable storage containers that I use for my larger models like the Disney Pixar Cars, Real Working Rigs, etc.

the tag on the top left side of the car is actually in what price range belong the model from the 2.99 to 5.5 euros . i have 3 siku models.. siku do something really good in emergency cars they use the country they are sings..... for example if you get police siku from germany you gonna get the polizei aka german police.. if you go to CZ you gonna get a car in Policie České republiky colors and tempos!!! and that some really cool by siku. the weissman is small car company in i thing austria.. the hurricane the racer the storm and the sniper are the siku fantasy models! the orange truck is a mercedes and the van of the polizei is mercedes to.. but have not the licence for them.. so they just chane 1-2 thing so there is no need for licence!!!

Wiesmann is a german car brand founded in 1988. Siku does have the Mercedes-Benz license for those cars. I have no idea why they made them look generic.

I've seen some of these near me in a display @ a toy store in Canada called Mastermind Toys. & by the way yup Toys R' Us is still going here too in Canada. I also heard a from another youtuber they might be coming back the the US soon. The way Mattel is going soon all there cars will float. Probably in a few years they'll be 100% plastic. That is if they keep the price @ about a dollar a car neway.

Mark, the problem with people swapping out cars seems to be very uncommon, here in the UK - they just steal them, and it's adults doing it, as when I've seen it done, it's more expensive models from higher pegs than could be reached by kids. Saying that, I did notice a few months back, that someone had taken every single Nissan 510 Wagon from a load of HW 'Speed Blur' five packs. That's adults, again. That sort of greed really annoys me. I wasn't looking for a pack, as I already had one, but I was intrigued as to why every box had the front perspex cut out. I told a staff member, who looked, and they had even taken the ones from the replacement case, too. We can buy SIKU models from odd places, here. Supermarkets, and Garden supply stores, for example. I don't buy them, as they are so nice, and as you know, you can't just have one...

Siku toys are good But Toys scale size should be according to real world vehicles For example : Bike should be smaller than a car Car should be smaller than a bus Bus should be smaller than a truck or lorry So toy cars according to size and scale makes the perfect set of collection Tq.. like my comment if you agree
