Tell Dad he has a great taste in music. Back in 1973 I was probably the only person in my high school who was listening to Uriah Heep. It was a trip turning on my buddy's to them. They were so underrated at the time. Keep it up. Peace!

Need to do the following: "Gypsy", "Salisbury", "High Priestess", "July Morning", "Look at Yourself", "Easy Livin'". Their Uriah Heep Live album from 1973 is a top notch engineered recording. Must listen to some songs off of it.

The entire album would be a great full album reaction. Ditto the album "Demons & Wizards", the album released before this one. "July Morning" off the album "Look At Yourself" - all of this is classic Uriah Heep. Very cool that you're getting into some Uriah Heep.

Back in the 70’s, my brother painted this album cover on a big piece of sheet rock type material and hung it in our garage, which they had converted into their den on iniquity. They’d all gather out there and play cards and listen to music, smoking pot and just partying all night.

If you wanna hit something "new," consider Neil Young's 1972 album _Harvest_. It is currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary this month. Be forewarned, however, it's a bit more on the folk/country rock side, but that LP made Neil Young a huge star in his day. The album still holds up.

URIAH HEEP, "SUNRISE". The Magician's Birthday. One of the first Albums I Bought, after seeing them on a 90 mile trek too Madison Wisconsin in 1973. Was a great concert. Yes I would agree too continue, and react to the whole album. 🔥 in my opinion. Another group and album, BLUE OYSTER CULT The Album Tyranny and Mutation, self titled Blue Oyster Cult, and Secret Treatises.

As child first I heard Lady In Black and Look At Yourself (the whole album). Best studio album Demons And Wizards, but I still listen the Live album 1983 with July Morning (greeting to Brian). But I wouldn't react to the whole album. A secret tip of the same time: two songs of Golden Earring RADAR LOVE ( UK peak no.7; US no.13; but the long version from Moontan 1973 or from the fantastic Live album 1977, almost as good as Made In Japan ). I guarantee you'll freak out: the rebel voice (similar as Roger), the leadguitar, bass and drums. Please do later TWILIGHT ZONE 1982 (US peak no.10), then you will release the deveploment to the 80ies. With these two songs you're at least sure to make all rock fans in Middle Europe happy, of course the Dutch people. Golden Earring is a GREAT live band, made long tours in America and had their fans there. A suggestion as others wrote: with one of the best guitarist of the 80ties: DIRE STRAITS (played in the music shop if you bought your first CD system in the 80ties; similar your first stereo system in the 70ties: Dark Side by Pink Floyd), Please start with the first single SULTAN OF SWING; worldwide hit; perhaps the album version AND/OR later a long live version from the live album ALCHEMY 1984; Mark Knopfler will take you on a long guitar journey; he "tells you a long guitar" story with transcriptions/bridges - a little bit similar as David Gilmour. If you will be happy you can react to Dire Straits e.g. all Mondays; two other long journey tracks TUNNEL OF LOVE and TELEGRAPH ROAD, the unexpected PRIVATE INVESTIGATION (played as I bought my CD system), the two fantastic guitar ballads ROME AND JULIET and BROTHER IN ARMS (but start not with the commercial songs from 1985 too earlier), fun songs TWISTING PY THE POOL or WALK OF LIFE, not forget the instrumental GOING HOME; most you will find on ALCHEMY or on the second live album ON THE NIGHT 1994. I'm sure you're doing well; I'm never offended when it comes on good music. All the Best TO ALL!!

Silas, I just came across your channel to learn you have been reacting to the great rock and roll that I grew up with. I want to suggest you react to a current band, The Warning, who has become my all time favorite rock band. They are 3 sisters from Mexico and true music prodigies, going viral in 2014 with their cover of Metallic's "Enter Sandman". I have seen them live twice this year and they are even better in concert. They have released 3 albums of all original songs which is amazing since they are ages 22, 20 and 17. I find their sound infectious. Here is a link to the first video I ever watched by The Warning performing one of their originals "Survive" when they were 16, 14 and 12 years old. You have been WARNED!!!

Shadows of Grief, Love Machine, Look At Yourself are just a few of Heep's heavier material. Their earlier albums up until Byron leaving and Gary Thain's untimely death were their best. Seems like most bands produce the best songs early on and then mediocrity sets in. Heep is still my all time favorite group.
