Are there any other systems that incorporate this type of hard block style? To learn this art via Zoom classes message me here. Train hard and stay safe!

To add a bit more context on this double strike (last section of video). When you attack the arm, all your force goes into damaging the arm (their weapon). The left hand hitting the face and/or neck won't be as strong as its almost deflecting off their arm while your right arm goes down for the kidney/liver attack. Attempting to force your opponent to flintch/look away to try and open up the side more and keep them from seeing your attack. The outside position is called fighting half the man, so blocking your face during the kidney/liver punch isn't as important cause it is really hard for your oppenent to get a solid strike crossing 3/4 of their body, but then he blocks when doing the kick fully expecting within the 1 second (or less) it took to perform the punch for the person to be back into fighting position looking for an attack.

This is beautiful. Real karate is closer to this than strip mall bullshit. (Not that I train karate, but I’ve grown to respect the hardness of the old school karate). Silat has not yet lost its destructive roots. (For the most part… I hate to see what has happened to some who have made Silat “part of their jkd blend” .., that is a poison that had crept into many warrior arts of the archipelagos. But… I fucking love real Silat. (Eskrima as well). Keep it up my friend. I hope we get to bruise forearms one day before I’m too old to play that way. I love this. Like really…. Love love love this.

Thank you my Brother! It’s all about keeping the art pure and spreading it to the people that deserve to walk the Silat path. Guys that say they teach Silat and mix it have know clue. That would be awesome if we could meet up and train. I live in south Florida, I’m doing a seminar in October 2024 if you’re interested. Thanks again for the solid comments.

Great conditioning. At first my arms were sore and bruised. But over time my bones are stronger, skin is tougher, muscles more dense, no bruising… they still get sore when we train Guru. Don’t think that will ever change 🙏😎🔥

Nope! If you’re not getting sore, you’re not getting stronger.

is there any silat competition on usa-europe? i have only seen it on asia. and is there MMA fighter using silat?
@EdgedTacticalSystems5 ай бұрын
I’m not sure about Dilat competitions in Europe. The USA Pencak Silat federation holds competitions and traditional Silat non competition. I do the traditional aspect of Silat. As for MMA I’m not sure who is using Silat. I know MMA has a ton of rules and Silat has know rules at all. Here is the link for USA. www.usasilat.org/

Question does that blocking sequence work from inside position as well? And if you can share any sequences or concepts on the difference between attacking inside and outside position please I would really appreciate it
@EdgedTacticalSystems6 ай бұрын
Great question, yes it works great on the inside. You just have to be aware that the opponent will definitely try to punch with the other arm. That’s why we set are self up when entering in I. The inside with expecting another attack. I will definitely put out a video on inside entries and the advantages and disadvantages.
@EdgedTacticalSystems5 ай бұрын
Hey, check out the video with blocking concepts to the inside. Let me know what you think.kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zmq4ooJmrL6Cd6M
@zaidamien27435 ай бұрын
@@EdgedTacticalSystems I checked it out yes. I like it simple, and to the point. I practiced silat for a few years and it's very similar to how I have learnt. There is a slight preference for the outside but the same technique can work from the inside as well and be prepared for opponents other hand. I feel honored that you made a video based off my question.
