Reduce low RPM fan noise on MultiPlus-II, EasySolar-II & Quattro-II:
If you have a problem with the loud fan of your Victron Energy MultiPlus-II Inverter/Chargers, then this Video is for you.
I explain and compare the different methods of reducing the fan noise of the Inverter.
(1) For units before serial number HQ2224, you can install a free Retrofit kit: SPR00090 - PCBA MGR50_MP_II fan PWM converter 40kHz
(2) It makes sense to update your Inverter to the latest firmware (v508 or higher)
(3) Add EPDM foam to detach the fan from the chassis
(4) Install a new fan: Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-24V-3000 SP IP67 PWM and get rid of the stock Jamicon JF1238B2HR-R
(5) Use rubber wallplugs to install the Inverter on the wall to reduce structure borne sounds
You can see from the graphs the different fan speeds from the stock JAMICON vs. the NOCTUA at 12V. Also I compare the fans with a dB(A) meter.
