I have spent so much time and money on trying to figure out how to make my leaf springs stop squeaking. Just did this and it absolutely worked !! Thank you!!

AWESOME! We love to hear when we have a confirmed fix!

What i did to silent them permanently i lifted the truck chassis to let the diff droop then with a pry bar seprated each leaf i could , cleaned them and squeezed a clear silicone caulk in between. Let the truck back down wipe the excess and done!! No more squeek ever again!! Wont attract dust or be removed by water splash like grease .

A shop I went to cut a tire and put the rubber between the springs and sprayed some grease on it and so far it’s good. It’s been like 3 months

Maxima motorcycle chain wax works well for squeaky suspension bushings and such. It sprays on liquid to penetrate and then dries like a wax to keep from attracting too much dirt.

We'll take a look at that, and add it to our description if it works! Appreciate the input!

Same leaf packs on my tacoma, loud as a mofo. About to trash them bc it’s a stupid problem.

I use surface shield by blaster and I coat the entire undercarriage with it. Then I jack up the body of the truck and spray it between the open leafs in the pack. Spray your underneath like this once a year for two to three years and it builds up to a nice surface to where no rust and no squeaks. I do like this idea as well

If your going to that extent you should just grease the pads and/or replace any damaged ones. A lot of people don't do regular maintenance on their leaf pack and have squeaking. Most installers never breaded them before putting them in either.
@stevep1794 Жыл бұрын
you should actually cut those plastic pads out in the first place. according to ICON custy service.
@hotshotoffroad Жыл бұрын
The crazy part is that these noises can occur at any time. The squeaks that we had occurred at less than 2,500 miles.

Do the inner tubes slide out after a bit? especially with the grease in between the leaf springs? just curious I'm trying to narrow down which method I want to use, thanks!

We had one guy with a 1st Gen Tundra who runs high-speed often and he has to adjust his shims every few weekends when he races. Other than that, there's a bunch of other rigs out there who never has to fight with them moving!

I did this, but they used barly like 1 layer of the rubber and it lasted only 3 months

Sometimes the segments will have to be realigned as they can shift, but if you’re squeaking again already you might be getting noise at the center pin or the bushings as well.
@austinwelder62378 ай бұрын
Any updates? Have they stayed in place since installing?
@hotshotoffroad8 ай бұрын
We OCCASIONALLY get a little bit of movement in the instances when we really lash on the suspension, but we've never had any fall out. Looking at the truck today I think that there's 3 pieces that could use adjustment, but there's no sound from back there at all.
@gregengelhardt46098 ай бұрын
Hey man just a question do the rubber bits slip out when your on a track and the leafs are flexing a lot
@hotshotoffroad8 ай бұрын
They'll shift around sometimes in high speed use-cases, but we don't get movement on them when we're crawling. There's enough pressure on them that even when the leaves open up they're pretty much pressed into place.
@GSmoove874 ай бұрын
Have these moved around on you at all?
@hotshotoffroad4 ай бұрын
Sometimes after a hard run I’ll notice that some have danced around a touch. Generally not a ton of movement from ours during any sort of daily driving or crawling activities.

Have the same set up and the squeak monster is frustrating at times. Will try this. Did you do anything to the actual bushings? Or just the plastic spacer pads. Thank and great vid. New sub here
@hotshotoffroad Жыл бұрын
Hey there! We "generally" don't get a ton of noise from the bushings. Every situation is different, but we find this to be the fix most of the time. That said, we are pretty deliberate about greasing bushings on install too.
@jimmyworks36007 ай бұрын
I have a GMC Sierra. Bad squeaking/groaning. I stupidly paid for new leaf springs. Less than a year they're starting to groan and clunk. I assumed this was from the bushings at the end of the leaf pack. Do you know anything about GM's issue?......leaf pack noise or bushing? If bushing what would you do about that?
@nr58345 ай бұрын
My 2011 is doing the same, 3 year old leaf packs. Mine is the leaf pack itself as you can feel and hear it come from the center where the leafs meat the ubolts. I pried them apart and loaded with oil. Not sure how long it's gonna last, but 1 week of silence so far.
@rookwalker Жыл бұрын
It sucks that Icon made leafs that squeak and have yet to fix this problem or quit selling them. Mine squeaked after 3,000 miles, and haven’t stopped. GET DEAVER if you’re in the market

Am I missing something? I thought the noise came from the bushings.
@hotshotoffroad9 ай бұрын
In our experience a lot of the noise from Icon RXTs anyway come from the interaction between the leaves themselves! It's not often from the bushings. Now their UCAs on the other hand... definitely the bushings!
