Glad to see you're finding a way to work around Patreon's bullshit, man. I've been working to re-rail my own channel after years of intense personal difficulty slowed down my output, and I've got a plan for how to work around the new Patreon changes as I chart a new course. That said, in the midst of all that, I haven't given enough thought to how memberships might factor into this... perhaps that's an option I'll need to give a bit more consideration myself...

Sorry to see you’re having trouble man. All the best to ya. Can’t believe I haven’t gotten the chance to be a member yet, anything to keep the ecosystem alive

I'm sorry to hear about Patreon continuing to jerk its users around like this, but I'm very happy to hear about Bandwidth! It seems like a lot of fun and I look forward to tuning in. :3

I've noticed for few years now that KZbin has embraced their status as the old reliable. They aren't the first to bring new features and ideas, but when something starts getting popular, they start developing their version of it, to be released without too many fanfares, neatly integrated into existing features. And when other platforms stumble, they pick up some stragglers. Twitter started plummeting, suddenly a lot of KZbinrs' community tabs got active. TikTok pushes TikTok shop too much, Shorts gets new sketch content.

Oh yeah. This is what I come here for. Physics wordplay in the show titles.

With the way creators are screwed by the system so much I'm surprised nobody has either given up or created a new system!

God bless you, sir 🙏 I'll be there for your journey.

I would also like some videos that are more in-depth breakdowns, especially with the bigger releases. I found you through the TTPD review and I would have loved that length for any number of other albums released this year. Even like one per month of whatever album you have a lot to say about so it’s not much more work.
@SpectrumPulseАй бұрын
So there's a few factors with the longer album reviews, the first being that I've put out a decent number of them since: Marianas Trench, JPEGMAFIA, Karen Jonas, Eminem, Charli XCX, twenty one pilots, Billie Eilish (and not for nothing, they're a lot more work than the shorts or even the 5-10 minute album reviews), also alongside my Pitchfork Festival recap and a three-and-a-half hour video essay. Truth be told, the question for me becomes whether I have that much to say about an album that pushes it into the longer runtime, and that can be ambiguous :)

@@SpectrumPulse Oh I’ve seen all of those, don’t worry! I’ve been watching consistently since April. Haha. I just appreciate the cultural/artistic context that you have that a lot of other music reviewers neglect for “thing good/thing bad”. Totally get the “more work” aspect tho and that’s entirely valid. Just was mentioning because you have good taste and explain well so I’d just love more analysis. Example, on both Short N Sweet & F-1 Trillion, I literally was going “Oh no it’s over!” Lol.

using Spunkshine for that needle drop at the end seems apropos in more ways than one

Bandwidth sounds cool af! I've been meaning to sign up for the Patreon again after having to cancel last time, but the memberships sound like a better alternative. Will live streams of Bandwidth be available for viewing after it's ended with the membership package?

Wow! This looks really exciting. I never signed a membership to KZbin, but I'm really looking forward to seeing you do this. I really hope it goes well for you. Wishing you luck, Mark!

I’m a member of a Mario kart KZbinr, KZbin memberships are just easily way more accessible and better than patreon imo. Fans can also hand out gifted memberships if you ever livestream which unsurprisingly, brings in more members towards your channel.

Are we allowed to request albums for Bandwidth, or are you gonna be deciding all the albums to listen to there yourself? Also, do the albums you're gonna be talking about on Bandwidth need to be available on Bandcamp, or be Bandcamp exclusives, or can they be available anywhere? Also, are all the albums you're gonna be talking about on Bandwidth going to be recent, like all the albums you typically review? Or can they be from any time? There's an artist that I know has uploaded some of his music with lyrics to Bandcamp, though not all of it, and he actually released his debut album this year, which isn't on Bandcamp but I know is on Spotify and I'm pretty sure other places like Apple Music. I actually briefly talked about his music in my most recent video (cheap plug). I have a feeling you might be interested, Mark. I'm actually in contact with him, so maybe I can let him know I recommended his album to a relatively popular music KZbinr and had him listen to it. I'm sure he'd appreciate it. I have less than 1,000 subscribers, so I don't imagine my video will get (or got) many new ears to his music. But maybe someone with nearly 50K subs will. Maybe I can tell you who this person is in your livestream on the 19th. Or if you want to know sooner, you can check out my latest video where I briefly brought up his music. Just be warned that you'll have to sift through a 3 and a half hour long video, and also this person's music wasn't the focus of the video. It was on another, much more popular artist. But this person's music is tangential to the more popular artist's music, hence why I briefly mentioned it in the video. Things will make sense after you see the video. Or again, I could just straight-up tell you in the live chat of your livestream on the 19th if you'd prefer that. Also, I even got to interview this person for my video, and I even uploaded the full interview as an unlisted video, which I put the link to in the description or the card of the video (another cheap plug).

I'm deciding all the songs I cover in advance on Bandwidth, and I'll go into more of the rules I've built up on the show on the 19th :)
@NorbertSDАй бұрын
@@SpectrumPulse Okay. Are we still allowed to make requests/suggestions for Bandwidth but you'll ultimately decide if you take any of them, or is it gonna be a no-request sort of thing where you completely decide all the songs you'll review without any outside suggestions whatsoever? Also, hope you didn't mind my cheap plug in your comments, Mark. I do have a feeling you'd be interested in at least watching the interview I did with that artist. He was a member of one of Canada's most popular bands.
