Josh Strife Hayes finally made a video on this game, and a commenter mentioned that you also made a review on it! I’ve followed your channel for ages but never saw this as it went up so long ago! Hell yeah! The final boss battle on the chess board is so damn unique, and the music slaps.
@ew275x9 жыл бұрын
Much better paced than usual and doesn't have excessive editing and "Internet meme-speak" like many "wacky" KZbin videos. I think that suits you more than trying to be overly comical and shitposty. Game looks pretty fun, and even if it didn;t sell to well,the company still exists. I'll have to admit that I was reminded of Sonic Adventure 2 when I saw the Space Station falling, that's what the blue hedgehog does to kids. Also, shortened intro, what is this, a western cartoon?
@CaptainPsychopath699 жыл бұрын
+ew275x well intros longer than 5 seconds on youtube is just annoying really (not that they're hard to skip)
@ew275x9 жыл бұрын
***** I feel the intro set up the tone of the videos well enough. I find the extended outros much worse, especially if binge watching in the future.
@CaptainPsychopath699 жыл бұрын
I don't mind GamingBrits original intros, but I honestly feel they are a tad pointless. so I quite liked that he cut them down
@ew275x9 жыл бұрын
***** I just find it unusual he cut it down, instead of removing it completely. It's so cut down it's pointless and still wastes time for people who want to skip it, even if it's a few seconds. The intro is just a jingle now. Go all the way next video Charlie. Still don't take this too seriously I was making mostly fun of Cartoon Network and Disney and their non-intros.

"Who cares every game should have a dumb versus mode" My thought exactly! I miss those too. AN i enjoyed Silent Bomber a lot. well, not exactly in the past, i still do. In fact i overplayed this game to the extent where your problems with the combat system are compensated by battle strategy. Example: combine napalm and gravity in the Resident evil section and thank me later. Generally smart usage of the liquids solve those problmes for me on all enemies. some rules of thumb: big mech enemies: EMP most emp, some napalm (more napalm on really tanky stationary ones) small mechs: mostly just bomb stacks with lockon, when in a pinch use some gravity scyther thingies: gravity(to lock in place, counter their mobility) + napalm about 50/50 + stack as big as possible for normal bombs but it sounded like you where already getting the hang on that anyways. Yes, i have played this when it released and i regularly replay it every few years. But damn that final boss fight is so freakin hard. Only Level where istill never could get an S-Rang so i had to download a save file to play Benoit in the VS mode.

@DetroitAlan017 жыл бұрын
Silent Bomber is the definition of a sleeper hit. This was part of an Official PlayStation Magazine demo disc, back in 2000. Got that disc for the Syphon Filter 2 demo, but this "unknown" title was clearly the best game on that disc. Didn't think twice about purchasing it and haven't regretted it since. Excellent game.

Fuck I completely forgot this game existed, I remember playing the hell out of it when I was a kid. I distinctly remember the first boss saying something along the lines of - "You just signed your death warrant, you're dead!" and my infantile mind being blown away by how cool I thought he was. Such a nostalgia trip.

have you played Ghost in the Shell for the original PlayStation ?
@BlitzvogelMobius8 жыл бұрын
My first experience playing this game was indeed on a Playstation Magazine demo disc in early 2000. It was the Japanese version of the game and because of that, you had to specifically reset the console to get back to the demo disc menu. It was by chance that later in the year I would happen to see the North American version of the game at a Best Buy and I had to have it. Unfortunately it was a game I never managed to beat. The Chess Setpiece battle with Benoit was absurdly difficult, in fact most of the bosses were. The Blue Mist Squadron was one of the most interesting sets of battles, both in the sewers and in the elevator. And yes, it was certainly one of the most technically impressive PS1 games. I wish I still had my copy.

I loved the demo but I never saw the game on shelves. I can only assume it had a limited release in my region.

This is one of the very best action games from the 90s. Alongside Omega Boost, Einhander, Disruptor etc. The PS1 has some of the best 3D action games ever. It hurts how much this game bombed (pun not intended), a genuine classic, never to get the attention it deserves on Top PS1 lists or anything. It really sucks when this sort of thing happens.

This was my favorite game on the PSX as a kid. I also played it from a demo disc at first, and instantly got in love with it. I still play it on occasion to this day. I can't beat the first section of the last boss thought, but I'll definitely manage to do it one day! This is a awesome game! I love the laboratory levels, the bosses, the elevators and boats, everything is just perfect. The boss where you fight in a city destroying buildings left and right and climbing on the boss is still boggling my mind.

Omg this was one of my favorite games when I was younger. No one knew this game at all, but my friends would see me playing this on the PS and ask to try. It has that Metal Gear Rising Revengeance kind of vibe, for the lack of a better comparison. The music in the game gets you all amped up to explode things too. There's even this VR mode where you can play against a friend as either the protag or one of the game's bosses and duke it out in an arena like a fighting game.
