I would think that the 10 to 15 amp adaptor is a bit of a con because if you draw more than 10 amps through the circuit the breaker will trip. I have used 15 amp tools straight on a 10 amp circuit in the past with no problem. If they do come under heavy load and exceed 10 amps they will trip the breaker.. Any electricians care to give some feedback on this?

My neighbour is a sparky and we've talked about this. While he said you can do it if you modify the plug but you are at risk of causing a fire if the 10amp breaker doesn't trip in time due to the higher load generated from a 15amp electrical product. It's also illegal so do it at your own risk. Also insurance won't cover your house if you burn it down by using a 15amp plug into a 10amp socket. Not worth the risk IMO. I have had the adaptor trip just once since I've had it so worth the price I reckon.

@@robsgarage69xw You have some valid points. I do think that the 10 amp breaker should do the job though,. If it fails? Unlikely, but the 15 amp device has the same low chance of failing. I would say that running a 15 amp device continuously would be stupid and dangerous but would still trip the breaker before a fire most times. Running a 15 amp tool in short bursts has a negligible chance of causing any problems. By the book you are 100% correct. In real life there is a bit of leeway if you understand the principles and the risk. I guess we do live in a by the book world these days so your advice is more sensible.

I’ve got the same pray gun. Remember watching the gunmans video and bought 2 of the guns one in 1.3mm tip and one in a 2mm for primer and clear great guns

Hey mate, can I plug the converter in an extension with other plugs?

You could but generally I think it's not a good idea to use extensions with tools that draw a lot of power. Personally I don't.

Like, I don’t know if once a fill the compressor I can unplug it and leave the air inside for days and just plug my tools and use it unplugged while it’s filled and if I should take the air out after each use and how I do it properly, cheers

Hey Rob just stumbled upon your channel & I'm very interested in purchasing the same 150 Hush compressor with the FLG spraygun. Would it be possible for you to simulate a full car respray (with no paint in the gun of course) to see if the compressor can keep up with the demand of the FLG gun on long demand runs?? No doubt it will handle a door or fender/hood with ease but a full respray I have my doubts. Been searching youtube everywhere for this info to no avail...Also a test with & air palm sander would be great also (just a thought).... Might be a good interesting topic to show on your channel for your subscribers!! BTW I have just subscribed!!............ Cheers Shane

Hey Shane, thanks for subbing to the channel. Much appreciated. Couple of interesting ideas you mentioned. I've seen custom spray mods do tests with a smaller compressor just using water instead of paint which probably isn't exactly the same but easier to test with than paint. I'd agree with you on trying to paint a full car with long runs and not sure it's able to keep up. I think I'll need a bit of experience before I try something like that but I like the idea. Cheers.

I'd recommend using that gun for priming and get a devilbiss gti pro lite for wet on wet, base coat and clear, much better setup. That is if your flg is a 1.8, if shes a 1.3 - 1.4 it should be fine for the actual paint side of things, depending on how nice of a finish you'd like.

had any problems withe the hush 150 yet ? I'm curious how long the motors last for being non oil lubricated , tho must have grease for the bearings

Great compressor, with the 4 engines on threw a 15amp but you will need to make drop offs and ad 2 traps to avoid too much moisture in the lines. I use mine for car restoration too.

Thanks Rob for making this video. It’s exactly what I needed to see. I’m thinking of purchasing the same compressor and the same ampfibian as I only have 10 amp input in my garage. But before I do that, I thought I’d ask you, how’s the ampfibian going so far? Is it able to handle longer outbursts of power? Thanks again👍

Hey Louis, I have been using it and haven't had it trip once yet however I can't say that I've put very long load times on the circuit either. I have had the compressor start and stop with all four engines running while refilling the tank with a 3 inch air sander but not for very long periods of time. Hope this helps.
