Thank you, Bloober team, you hit a grandslam. As a fan of the original 23 years ago at the age of 27 and playing on a PS2. With a 24in sharp TV my mind was blown, because well that's as good as it gets, so I thought. But fast forward and I have sooo much praise for the game but I'd write forever. So I'll keep it short. I just wanted to say the level of detail is stunning and unparalleled, truly a next level masterpiece. It's disgustingly, beautiful if that makes sense. I've never been so immersed and feeling every smash and stomp and swing and shot from James. And the enemies are relentless if I engage. I love how they seek and destroy. Showing no mercy. Much like James. Story well , we know the story is priceless. Thanks this is a once in a lifetime!

Bloober team and everyone involved in creating this wonderful remake did such a great job in translating the Silent Hill concept for the modern/current age of gaming, they truly deserve their flowers 💐 for this output. The game’s atmosphere is fully realized, detailed, and amazingly immersive. The pacing/structure of the overall storytelling is very well done, and my favorite aspect of this game, everything just flows so coherently and made for quite the cinematic experience. What truly ties this package/game together is the soundtrack/sound design, just wow, making the simple act of walking down a corridor anxiety inducing. This remake’s vision and direction for the Silent Hill series is a hopeful sign for future projects, and I truly believe future development of newer Silent Hill titles will take notes and learn from this remake’s example of the franchise.

You guys dethroned the original The Evil Within as the king of Survival Horror. It was at the top of my list and has been since it came out. RE4 was a close second and the OG Dead Space was third. I didn't think that was possible, hell I wasn't even comparing it to that game when I started this up. You guys created something that's in a league of it's own, this is the best survival horror game I have played to date. An easy 10/10 I can not remember the last time I have been this consistently in awe while playing a game. Everything is state of the art and at an incredibly high level. This game also has the best sound design I have ever heard in a video game. Thank you so much for this. Absolute incredible piece of work. And for the record, I never played the OG SH2, so it's not like I'm wearing nostalgic goggles on this.

It's really good, honestly the best game I've played this year. I don't get all the negativity around leading up to the launch. Real Silent Hill fans won't embrace this because we see that the narrative has been chopped up and repurposed. Bloober team doesn't seem to understand subtlety when it comes to storytelling. Angela sounds perfectly well, Eddie sounds more like a cartoon character than he ever did, There's no distinction between Maria and Mary in the jail scene despite the fact that that is a crucial moment where they should be sounding vastly different to juxtaposed their character

I just said I was an OG fan from back in the day and obviously like what the devs have done with the remake (along with the majority of the reviewers out there). It's one thing to not be comfortable with a favourite game of yours being remade and potentially ruined and another thing entirely to not admit you were wrong. What you said, to me at least, are nitpicks and actually the devs worked hard to give us a remake as faithful as possible, only changing a few things that the OG devs already had in mind from the beginning but couldn't put in the game, or convey to us, from a technical stand point. In the end, no one forces anyone to buy this game and the devs have been so kind with their fans in how they treat and listen to them, but for some odd reason a small minority hates the game blindly and are very vocal about it!

@@Opalescape I've watched all cutscenes and especially Maria who sounds bored and wooden in all her scenes the game is now more action and more darker youd have to put the brightness up, and overreliance on remakes stifles creativity within the industry and prevents original storytelling from flourishing the more you remake older games the more older games that are beloved become obsolete there's nothing good about this practice it's lazy and shows that these devs just want to get their hands on other people's work of art and redo it all.

@@derekb4977 I do agree with you about the reliance on remakes, but I also know that fans have asked for a remake for several years, now. Companies made remakes that nobody wanted or asked for, but I think Silent Hill is a special case. I am unable to play the game myself because I lack the necessary console to play it, so I’ve been watching KZbinrs play Silent Hill 2, and i am *thoroughly* impressed with how the game plays. Even the player will comment that the combat feels a bit smoother-that is to say, less clunkier than its predecessor, because I think we can all agree that OG SH2 did have a horrific combat system. Some may argue that it’s fitting, because it makes James feel like an average Joe with a gun, but I can argue that it feels the same in the remake. He’s still your average Joe convenience store clerk, but when he is around monsters you can hear his breath hitch in fear and the gun sways (maybe he’s shaking so much). I do enjoy the bit of nuances added to the gameplay. It doesn’t feel that much more combat-y, but I have heard you find a bit more ammo in the remake. From what I can tell, old fans who love the OG game, they don’t mind the extra ammo. I don’t think the company behind the game “missed the point”. They gave it a makeover, sure. The game stays true to the source material. It feels like the company really wanted to bring SH2 back to life and they did a banger job of it. I haven’t finished watching the play through yet, I may sing a different tune if I remember to come back here and give my two-cents, but so far I am enjoying just watching, and that’s saying something. I really wish I could play. And frankly, I REALLY love the voice acting. It feels more believable. And Angela’s story is… soul crushing. Edit: Sorry for the mistakes in my post, it’s hard to type on Mobile. I read back, and its so awful! I hope you can understand what I’m trying to get across 😂
