Bloober Team, I don't really know how to reach out to you to give thanks so this comment will be my attempt of letting you know. You went above and beyond my expectations for the Remake you created! You both honored the original BUT ALSO ADDED to the story in ways that only MAKES IT BETTER!! There were so many times where I was playing Remake and thought, "Wow they handled that scene better than the original!!" Bloober Team have done the unthinkable. Taking one of the most beloved horror games of all time and not just remaking it but arguably improving on it in some aspects. The sound design I knew would be stellar since their Layers of Fear games were already masterpieces in sound design. The careful attention to detail and also just the unprecedented detail in the game world with respect to environments is stunning. The soundtrack in the remake is arguably the best soundtrack in a horror game of all time in my eyes. I thought it would be impossible to live up to the original game but Akira Yamaoka stunned everyone yet again. I think all of us would love remakes of SH1 and SH3 as long as Bloober developers them. I hope this is a wake up call to Konami. I want to see them come back with a vengeance to the gaming world.

And even if it did, it is Konami's fault first of all, that they abandoned their own product and left the fans hanging for YEARS until now. Guys you have acomplished something impossible - you've upgrated perfection. I've played original SH2 around 2004, I've adored that game. I've even wrote 530 pages long novelization of it and when I've started playing your remake once again I felt like 20 years younger. Everything in this game is perfect, from the atmosphere to the music. It's hard to scare me in any game but you made it. Thank you also for forcing Konami to release this game on PC as well because I don't own a PS5 and I'm not intend to buy it. The sound design of this game will stick with me for a long, LONG time. I have never heard anything else like it and I stopped so many times while playing to just listen to the ambient noises in the environments. The level of care and detail in these effects is awe inspiring. They greatly enhance the emotional impact of the music and story beats that they compliment. Whatever it is to you... "It is something you have to go through.". I feel that the Silent Hill games managed to portray the uncomfortable and have the player go through shadows and out on the other side.

Guys, the game is not bad, but I don't understand one thing - why was it necessary to make only one walking speed on the analog stick of the gamepad, because now almost every game has at least 3 speeds of movement, or even 5. Before the start of the game there is a message that for complete enjoyment you need to play on the gamepad, but in fact in the game you can assign absolutely any button to walking and not lose anything, which is sad because varying the walking speed from very very slow to extremely fast contributes to better immersion in the game and gives more control over the game character, allowing you to control him more subtly through fine motor skills of the fingers. I really hope that you will fix this in the next update and add additional walking speeds lower and higher than what is currently in the game.

Just finished my first run, the visuals and mechanics are on point, but the audio was pitch perfect. Best audio I've heard in a game. I play with headset and the moments it just goes silent, was the loudest. Great job and congrats, Masterpiece!!!

The bit where the designer talks about "sitting in a space and listening" is so true. Applies to real life areas as well, but I think that's why the sound design is so effective here. The spaces have so much life to them. Bravo on absolutely nailing the atmosphere of all the different spaces in this game.

the sound design in the remake is crazy, i love it so much. the sound design is so insane ive nearly shat myself because of the sounds while playing the game. some sounds make me so anxious and terrified, i love it. the sound designers killed it for the remake and they better get nominated for best sound design in any upcoming video game award shows. they deserve all the awards for the sound design, i can't stress how much i love the sound design and soundtrack in general too.

Bloober I grew up on this game and am so blown away of what five star meal you and Konami have served up with this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the fact that the town shows itself in its former then other world self, the music, the sounnnnndddsss lol the music itself having those random sound effects the atmosphere was amazing!!!!! The lakeview hotel blew me away, it wasn’t a one lane hallway it looked like multiple people could be in that hallways, unlike ps2 being what its limit was lol. Audio is one of the most underrated parts of any game. It does a lot of unseen heavy lifting with the emotion the game is trying to give the player. A calm game will have soft satisfying sounds with calming relaxing music like Minecraft and animal crossing. A action game will have upbeat music with loud satisfying sounds to up the action and get the player excited. Horror games music is interesting since it's supposed to not be satisfying bud fear and anxiety inducing. silent hill is the prime example of this, using loud metallic scratching for it's unsettling music and large groaning sounds for it's environment. The static radio indicating enemies gives the enemies such a disturbing aura, the enemies sounds unnatural and distorted. But sometimes the game lets the player breathe with more soft and oddly comforting music while exploring the town. And in the intro it gives the player an upbeat rock song to get the player excited. Silent hill is such an amazing series when it came to music and audio because of how well it delivered the feeling the game makers wanted, from fear, to sorrow, to melancholy and it did it all in silent hill's otherworldly and unncanny atmosphere. I'm so glad the people at bloomer team recognized Silent Hill's amazing sound design and did an amazing job of honoring the original in that department. Not to mention how the original composer returned to do amazing renditions of his classics. You really hit this one out of the park blooper team!

Been a gamer for a long time, I have played hundreds of games in my time beating them. Out of all my remakes and just regular games I've played this remake is one of the best ones I have ever seen being actually not better cause no one can top an old classic.
